“Dont Stay in Economy Rooms”
Reviewed September 5, 2009

We stayed here for two nights on a 15 night trip from Calgary to Vancover.Without doubt this was the poorest accomadation of the trip .We pre booked and paid £80 per night for the room and expected a lot better after checking out the pics on the website. We were placed in a seperate dower four storey block at the rear of the complex .It was classed an economy room but was not as it was in the photes on the website. The room was very small, with the smallest double bed ever( and the option of another drop down bed).Although clean, the room was very tired! with tatty furniture and well worn stained carpets. The bathroom was again clean but very small and in need of some urgent TLC. We enquired if we could upgrade and it would have cost $60 extra per night so decided to put up with it as it was only two nights.I know accomadation is expensive in Lake Louise but I would look to stay somewhere else or pay extra for a better room !!!

We were at the Lake Louise Inn last week and enjoyed our dining choices immensely.
The Timberwolf Pizza and Pasta Restaurant features a menu that offers a variety of choices to meet the needs of all ages. It includes pizza and pasta dishes that are varied and familiar and DELICIOUS! I would recommend the meat lasagna - a hearty, tasty and hot serving which was served with garlic bread. The rest of our group loved the pizza with a variety of toppings. The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived and we had a short wait during which time we heard the comments of satisfied customers departing! Some examples were - "worth the wait", "best food in town" and "we'll eat here again!" The staff were welcoming and even while they were extremely busy, we did not ever feel rushed. They were friendly and patiently answered any questions we had.
We also had the Chinese Buffet on Thursday night and the Prime Rib on Sunday night in the Legends Restaurant. Both nights the food was hot and very tasty. The Chinese Buffet dishes were kept fresh and the Prime Rib was done to a turn.
The Tea House located behind the Inn is a treat as well. Delicious, fresh scones and choice of teas served English style.
All in all our experiences at the Inn were wonderful!

We were on a budget, and saw this as a deal on-line, and were pretty pleased considering the price we paid ($99US), and the lodge. There are several buildings, with pines and grass in between. More like a lodge really. The rooms were nothing to write home about, but clean and comfortable. A bit tight, but for two nights it was fine. We walked over and used the pool and hot tub, and then enjoyed some wine while checking out the mountains. If want a place to stay that's not super-expensive but OK, this is a good choice. Just don't expect high class rooms when you're paying basic prices! We actually liked the grounds a lot and said we'd go back.

Arrived late in the afternoon. Check was fast and staff were very polite and friendly (even apologized for not being able to get our group rooms that were closer together....and we hadn't even asked for them to be closer). Stayed in rooms 1107 and 1311....both were VERY clean and very nice. Bathroom was CLEAN with lots of fluffy towels! Room 1107 was warm, but as soon as staff were notified a fan was placed in the room (given that the hotel was extremely busy...as it was a holiday weekend....we considered this very helpful). We ate at the Gazebo (BBQ buffet style). Great selection, fresh, with lots of desserts (extrememly important for many of our travelling partners!!). View from the rooms was awesome! We kept the curtains open and awoke to an amazing view of the mountains :o) Location was great as it was easy to find and not far from amenities (gas station, conv. store, candy store, highway). I would definitely recommend to family and friends (at least rooms 1107 and 1311). The only downfall was our breakfast experience....which was VERY pricey.....however, this could have been avoided with proper planning or by eating breakfast off site.

We booked our 2 night stay through Canadian Affairs, in what was termed an Economy Double. On arriving we were given room 4120 which was in block 4 of the complex. There was no air conditioning but you shouldn't expect (or really need) that in this part of the Canadian National Parks, even in summer. The room was the smallest we have ever stayed in, with a double bed and another pull-down double, a shabby carpet, broken room thermastat control, but with a nice bathroom.
However, our room also turned out to be immediately above the hotel's own laundry room. Think of the vibrations, whirring and thumping noises, but especially the heat from your own laundry facilities, then think what it would be like if you were doing the laundry for 200 or so hotel rooms to get an idea of what it was like in summer in room 4120, and probably 2 or 3 other nearby rooms. It was truly awful - the room should never have been let to paying guests in the height of summer.
On complaining about the room to the desk we made the unfortunate mistake of asking how long the laundry operated and were told it ran from 7:00 until 21:00, and before we could gather our wits to still insist on a change of room were told that if it ran outside those times we would be moved. Like idiots we conceded.
Of course the staff may have gone off at 21:00 but the washers/dryers kept right on going until 21:50. But although we complained again at 21:05 we had realised that moving rooms (if they had any vacant) at that time was not an option, so simply insisted that we were moved the next day. We spent a sleepness night with the heat that had built up in the room.
The next day the hotel did try to make things right by giving us an upgrade to a beautiful room in the main building. What a difference. Again no air conditioning but the temperature inside that room was significantly cooler than the original room. But trying to make amends shows just how wrong they knew it was to place us in the original room.
If there is a Canadian Tourist or Health and Safety Board that oversees hotels they need to investigate the rooms above the laundry at the Lake Louise Inn. We have stayed in rooms that were as noisy, with those rooms air conditioning, but we have never stayed in a room that was so unbearable hot as that of Room 4120 at the Lake Louise Inn. Never again.
