Stayed at the Lake Louise Inn for 2 nights during a family ski trip first week of January 2013. We're a family of 4 and travelled with our dog, pets are welcome at the Lake Louise Inn. Took advantage of Living Social deal. Stayed in building #5, room was clean, pool was fun for the kids, and food we ordered from The Explorers Lounge was great. After a day of skiing the hot tub was a welcome sight, although a bit crowded. Staff were friendly and accommodating, they brought us a microwave to use for our stay since our room was not equipped with one. Living Social deal was great, included $25 gas card and amenities gift bag (2x bottled water, snacks, ice scraper). This was our second stay at the Lake Louise Inn and would stay here again, without worry.

We stayed one night in at this hotel and that was more than enough. The front desk staff were nice and friendly during check in.

Our room....
The room we stayed in was tiny. The room decor is tiring to say the least. I'm sure at one point in time it was for one queen bed but now they have managed to squeeze two queens in it with no room to move around. I would guess the hostel across the street was changing out their beds and this hotel picked them up out of the dumpster - without sitting on the bed you could see there was absolutely no support whatsoever in them and your back will confirm this in the morning. The cleanliness of the room was disgusting. There was not one, but at least 5 or 6 long hairs on the bathroom floor and in the bathtub. The funny thing about this is we brought our pet along with us, and we have done this numerous times but were appauled at the $50 charge. We have no problem paying a fee but that is twice the amount we have ever paid before. We were told it was so staff could do a deep cleaning....yet they can't get the hair off the lino and out of the bathtub....

Meals....
We tried to order room service because we didn't want to leave the dog unattended. We called the hotel restaurant 3 times over a 20 minute span with no answer. Then we tried the front desk for another 20 mins with no answer there either. So we went to the restaurant (The Timberwolf) we got lucky and only had to wait 15 minutes to place our order to go. (a tip - if you are crazy enough to stay here, just walk to the back of the restaurant where they have a separate place to order take-out, but don't expect great service, someone will eventually get to you) The food itself was good, nothing fancy. And some of the people in line for this little restaurant when I placed my order were still in line when I picked up my order half an hour later. I guess don't go during prime hours, which explains why they won't answer the phone either.

Breakfast was $17.50 for the mediocre buffet. No thanks. No time either because of 1/2 hour to check out. It takes a while when everyone else in line was also very dissatified with their stay and was willing to voice their comments. I've never seen a place where everyone felt the same way. Its a good thing we weren't one of the people who spent $400 for a night at this dump.

Its worth the drive to go back to Banff!

Room Tip: stay away from here!

this was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. your manager has the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I would recommend you hiring a new manager that actually cares about the guests and ( apparently your staff agree ).. Kind of sad that they do too. I will be telling everyone how bad this stay was. Couldnt get any decent service for anything.

Room Tip: dont stay at this hotel at all!

stayed at the family loft for one night with my family for a last minute gateway. so we ended up paid more (arond 330 cad for a night!) for the loft because it was a very last minute booking. however, they have plenty spaces/beds for all of us- 2 queen beds, 2 single beds, and bunk bed. they have 2 washrooms for the family loft, which pretty good if you're in a big group. the loft is clean with a reasonable kitchanette. not that really close to lake louise itself, but it just 5 mins drive to the lake louise and 10-15 mins moraine lake.. but really convenient because close to convenient store/local shops at lake louise village.. if you go with big family/group, this is a good choice to stay around lake louise.. just remember to book early!

We pre paid nearly $200 for a supposedly deluxe room. The room was barely average - small and not well appointed and no view either. But that is not the worst of it. We found out later that the entire town had been informed that there would be a SCHEDULED power outage from 6 pm till 8 pm. We were not informed of this when we checked in, nor were any signs posted.

Shortly after 6 I left the pool area and took the elevator to our room on the 3rd floor. There were no signs on the elevator saying not to use it - luckily for me I was out of the elevator and 2 minutes into a shower when the electricity went off. I managed to finish showering, get dressed, and went downstairs to see what was going on. A young girl at the front desk said she wasn't sure but thought that a tree had fallen on a wire. We then walked over to the little shopping area which is when we found out that all the businesses had been told in advance about the scheduled outage. Many of the stores and restaurants had planned in advance and had generators going so they could stay open. Everyone was planning on the power coming back on at 8. We went back to the hotel and many guests, many of which were in their 60s and older were just milling around in the lobby. No one on the hotel staff was providing information or help. They did manage to put a sign up even though it was after the fact. Long story short, the power did not come back on till just after 1100 pm. We had walked a half mile or so in the dark to a gas station to get something to eat but all those older folks must have been pretty hungry and there was no lights in the stairwell and staff had no flashlights, etc. we were able to use our flashlight app on our phones, but again the older folks were having a hard time getting up and down - no staff were helping anyone - serious safety issue, as there was no emergency lighting.

In the morning as we were checking out, some of the older folks were complaining, and the clerk, whose name tag said "front desk manager" just flat out lied and said they didn't know about the outage and after a long discussion amongst all of us still refused to even take a small percentage off the bill or offer a free breakfast. I asked to speak to the general manager who, not surprisingly, was unavailable. Later we talked with others who had stayed at other hotels such as Deer Lodge, where the management provided flashlights and soup and salad and had candles up the stairwells and along hallways. We completely understand that the hotel had no control over the outage, but they really mishandled it and clearly have very poorly trained staff. So just terrible management at this hotel which was already pretty marginal for the price.
We will be back to Lake Louise, but we will NOT be back to Lake Louise Inn.

we booked a room - quadruple - for four adults .
We had a very very small room, no place to open all bagage, only a little tabkle witch Two chairs. Every day coffee for TWO and this for four days. We asked for another room but we refused to pay 65 dollars a day more.
The worst choice on my trip of a month

Lake Louise is a good choice for trekking<<<<;
