Moraine lake may not be as well known as Lake Louise, but it's definitely well worth the visit. Viewing the lake from either the bottom or the top of the hill gives you a different feeling. You cannot stop counting how many peaks are there surrounding the lake, just as the introduction said. Pure body and mind refreshing!

“Ink blue lake and surroundings will take your breath away”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

It is a long windy road to the lake from Banff and occasionally the traffic stops to view bears in the woods. Best not to get out of the cars to view them although a few Japanese tourists did this to take photos. Parking is overcrowded at the lake and many park by the side of the road before the car park. The lake itself is only blue and surrounded by tall mountains. Boating is possible but we took a short easy hike across the stream to a rocky outcrop overlooking the lake that offers spectacular views. A little ground squirrel kept us company up there begging for food from tourists...just adoringly irresistible!

“Moraine Magic”

They say 'Third time lucky'. I visited Moraine Lake in 2012 and even in June the lake had ice on it! A quick visit in early June 2013 in the morning seemed 'spot on', but a further visit a few days later in the afternoon was amazing. The sun really brought the colour out to its best.

“Not as expected”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

I saw many stunning photos of moraine lake.but when we visited the place was looking like a haunted place. the morain lake lodge was empty, hardly 5/6 people were there. there were a lot of logs on the lake which lessen the beauty of the lake. i think the lake needs maintenance. and when we went there, there was severe bear alart in moraine lake area. so hiking was strictly prohibited. and it is highly recommended to read every day bear alart before visiting any attraction.
