Fantastic trip - we were lucky enough to get Bruce "the mad scottsman"! what a guide! my wife was scared to death and with a bit of humor and common sense he brought her to a level of comfort and trust that allowed her to raft a series of class 3 and 4 rapids!! She even survived "Deadmans Rock" after which the fron half of the raft was submerged in about 2-3 ft of water! It was Fabulous!!
My wife who turned 53 that week was soo proud of herself! She announced that she had never done anything so challenging and thrilling! You could sense her confidence! Bruce was hilarious - I sure he has seen it 100X before.......but he didn't let on! My two teenagers loved it and the fact that it was scary for them and their mom was great - good bonding on the Kicking Horse river that day.
Best gear is some sort of Under Armour type synthetic compression shorts and rayon type shirt (really all you need is the shorts) everything else is provided and there is hot cocoa and cookies afterwards!
Very professionally run, detailed safety briefing and we even got out of the river to view the class 4 rapids BEFORE running them (unlike two other outfits that just rammed rt through) perfect for the little lady! She watched the other companies go through and gave a thumbs up for the class 4 rapids (she NEVER would have without Bruce letting her she them first) Good stuff!
My wife called all her friends and sent them photo's of her rafting experience! It WAS priceless!
