Quick hit highlight - the reasonable prices
Quick hit lowlight - the service could be improved
My family took a day trip to Banff and for lunch we were just looking for some good, nothing fancy food and Tommy's hit the mark.
Ambiance - Exactly what we were looking for, busy and fun. Being a tourist town the sounds of multiple accents discussing Banff make for a great environment. Even thought it was a pub there were lots of families in attendance.
Food - Also exactly what we were looking for, simple pub fare. The option of elk and bison burgers added a unique Banff twist, which we enjoyed. The burgers were large and the sides of fries were enough to fill us up.
Price - As mentioned above, great reasonable price for the town of Banff. Our meal for 4 (excluding drinks and tip) came to about $45.
Service - The one downside was the service. While our server was friendly, we had some issues. First a server brought two of our four dishes, except they weren't ours. This sat on our table for about 5 minutes before they came back to discover their mistake. Then we received our correct meals which was great, except we hadn't even received our drinks yet. Last, I had to serve myself a water from the bar. Nice server but a little unorganized.
Location - right on the main street in a basement. You may not see it at first but it's there.
Overall - I rated it average because the food was above average but the service was below, so average it was.
Thanks for reading...hope it helped.
