First time snowshoeing and it's easy and fun.
Lydia and Jeff are great tour guides. Both are very helpful, knowledgable and entertaining.
Marble Canyon is very scenic, especially on a sunny day.

We booked the evening Johnston Canyon Icewalk. It was the last walk of the season.
The guides were fine girls, gave good information, the tour was okay but I had wrong expectations about what I was going to see.
The falls were only lit by the torches of the guides. I was hoping to see more than what I had already seen in the brochures.
The walk itself in the dark was spectacular but I think in daylight you could have ‘experienced’ the canyon with all the snow and ice far better.
Without the provided equipment to put over your shoes you couldn’t have done this walk. Doing it on your own was therefor no option but if I had known beforehand I would have booked the day tour.
If you think you can do without the information the guides give, buying some ice-cleats and a flash light would probably be a better choice and certainly cheaper because we found it very pricey.

We just took a tour of Johnston's Canyon. Our guides were Lydia & Jeremy - they were both super! Lydia knew so many interesting facts about the area, history, geology. We did the tour on March 29- and the the trail was covered in snow & ice. The bus was right on time and picked us up right at our hotel in Banff. The bus was new and comfortable; the ride was about 30 min. They provided ice cleats-I wouldn't have dreamed of doing this without them - although we did see some folks without them. They provided maple cookies and hot chocolate at the upper falls. The walk was about 5 km (3 mi) round trip.

All around this was a lovely trip. If you had a car, you could save some money and drive to the base, but you'd miss the history and all the interesting info provided by the guides. I loved hearing about the intentional forest fire setting to control the beetles...and the voluntary closure of the roads to protect the wildlife. All around ver nice.

We went on the early morning trip, pick up about 8.30. Mia, our guide and driver was really great, very knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to as we drove along and when we took our walk. We managed to glimpse a variety of wildlife as we travelled to the canyon, including a wolf down by the Bow river. We were the first to walk in fresh snow that particular morning and came across loads of small animal tracks which Mia pointed out and explained to us, that was a lovely unexpected bonus. The frozen waterfalls were beautiful and well worth the effort of the walk especially as we contemplated them over hot chocolate and maple cream cookies carried there for us by our trusty guide.

While visiting Banff , we had the tour to Lake Louise with Discover Banff Tours The tour itself was fantastic thanks to Anick our guide and she was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and happy to answer anything. She knew the history on everything Alberta, Bears and the National Park and Anick got the whole tour involved and was the highlight of the trip. Very good.
