“service is terrible”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We went to this sushi house on the evening of this Oct 6 Sunday, 2013. When we just stepped in, the boy waiter asked us waiting outside of the house, he said he will called us in when available. So, we went out. After a while, more guests came, and they went in the house, BUT, this waiter did not ask them waiting out! these guests stood by the table, and soon be served. The waiter completely forgot us in the waiting list!!!! Terrible!!! WON'T BE THERE AGAIN!!!

“Worth the search”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

I recently stayed in Banff as part of a Rocky Mountaineer train tour and wandered into this small Japanese restaurant with a travelling companion, quite by chance. It is hidden away in a side street, but Banff is only a small town so it is not too difficult to find.
They work on the same principle as the Yo Sushi chain, with the food passing in front of you on a small train, so you can select exactly what you like. Anything else off the menu is made to order. It was wonderful to see the chef cutting a huge piece of tuna to prepare the sushi, so you know it's fresh!
For Japanese food it was very cheap and my friend and I were delighted that we had found this little hidden treasure.

“Average”

Very average running sushi. We have visited the establishment for lunch.
We had much better sushi before. The place was empty and the chef was clearly preparing for the afternoon ignoring us. Popular within locals so we may have just be unlucky.

“Wonderful!”

Thought we would try this rather small japanese restaurant and wow it was excellent japanese food! Good thing about it is there is a food train and you can choose what you want by sight. If you like fried chicken it is a definite must, delicious!

“All on view!”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

A little train ran around a line carrying dishes from which we could choose to eat. The dishes were colour coded by the plates they were on and so you knew the price of each dish. You ate what you fancied and then paid at the end when he plats had mounted up!

Interesting to watch the sushi makers assemble their plates in the centre of the eating area around which we sat on stools.

A novel way of seeing and tasting sushi and ideally suited to a new sushi eater like me!

I enjoyed baby lobster particularly.

Good food.
