Description: Our Story Begins in Ireland Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, St. James's Gate, established in 1996, was built and manufactured in Dublin, Ireland. The authenticity of the imported Irish woodwork and fantastic artifacts make St. James Gate one of the premier Irish Pubs in the world. The Gate has a warm friendly atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Rub shoulders with local residents and tourists from around the world. The bartenders are friendly and prepare the drinks with care and consideration and the staff proves just what a capable & fun group of servers is worth. It's everything an Irish Pub should be.

“generic instant Irish O'Pub, but done right: 3.5 / 5 if I could”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We had the Cajun chicken sandwich and lamb burger. Both were better than expected. Fair prices on a more than fair selection of scotches too. If you want a fine meal, don't go here; if you want better-than-average pub fare, our meal was that. One thing that was strange: our server disappeared half way through the meal (about 7:00p.m) - seems like a strange time to end a shift in a busy restaurant. Anyway, her colleagues took good care of us from that point.

I've tried most menu items, I am a fussy eater, I love them all, what are you waiting for?!

To be honest we prefer jasper to banff and only come here for this pub food, no kidding!

“Cool place; good food and beer; pleasant service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

I had the lamb burger which sounds a little strange but it was really good. Came with a Caesar salad and that was great too.

My wife had a 1/2 salad and a cup if soup. Not as good but okay. The food seems pricey but probably normal for Banff.

The beer selections are great. There is a huge variety on tap as well as bottled beer. Nice and cold.

The decor is classic pub and really comfortable. Very nice overall.

What a great find - fun, great food and service. The folks at the table next to us took our picture which is now my Trip Adviser profile pic. As you can see, we're having a great time.

“The best fish and chips!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Heard they had the best fish and chips and they were awesome. Service was very good. Cost was comparable to other pubs. Would definitely go back.
