“wanting a classy dinner.....?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

We were overly impressed with the service - that while it was somewhat formal, our server had a sense of humour, and knew when to be there and when not to be.......wine list was spectacular, and food superb.

“A very good place if you want to try some French food in Banff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

After a couple of weeks in the USA/Canada I needed some food like home and I found this restaurant while visiting Banff. This was a very nice surprise. I had the steak tartare which was good (if not copious enough as Tartare tends to be much bigger in France), served with some delicious French fries, and I had the Tarte Tatin for dessert (which was quite good even if more like an apple pie as Tarte Tatin is usually made with big chuncks of apple not thin slices).
Very nice service too.
The prices were a bit high compare to Paris for such fare but given the area I think it was quite normal.

“good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

simply because there's no horrible ranking we selected this restaurant. first of all our server is great, very welcoming and in time. however, the food is average, the bread ws not fresh enough, but they served us sparkling water, which is my boyfriend's favotite. then i ws expecting my duck breast to be melt in my mouth just as the way i had before in other french restaurant, but not really. my bf ordered elk, coz its suppose to be local, but taste odd nd lack of flavor.worse part was there are bone crumbles inside of his dish. on top of that i was a bit disappointed a french restaurant does not serve fresh pepper.

“Food was good: Service was "a bit off"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Had a nice dinner with some business colleagues at Beaujolais. While the food / presentation was for the most part quite good, we found the service lacking somewhat. It seemed they may have been under staffed and the servers bounced from table to table, usually in a hurried / rushed mode. Not something you'd expect from a place that calls itself ahead of the rest in town. With the prices charged, one would expect a degree of care and attention to the table reflective of that price. Next time in Banff, we'll likely stick to the other notable restaurants.

“Average restaurant in Banff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Not bad - but nothing special either. Food was fine, but a bit expensive for what you get even by resort standards. It's a pretty restaurant with nice views.
