I had read so many reviews & decided that this is where we should be. Ok, so we made a mistake!
I was sure I requested a suite & we ended up with a hotel room. It is tiny! It is dark! It could really do with a makeover. The bed is hard. The blind is torn on the edges, there is no fridge, it smells musty, the tiny little sofa is hard, we can hear the guests next door... I could go on & on. Oh & you have to go from the warmth of the main building to the outdoors to get to your room! Not so nice when it's freezing outside & dazzling rain. Thank God we only have 2 nights here.
My tip? Stay somewhere else!

Room Tip: Probably a suite?

I'm so sorry to hear you feel you made a mistake with booking at the Fox Hotel & Suites.

We don't base rooms on requests, but rather give our guests what they book. If you booked a suite, you would have certainly received a suite, if you booked a hotel room, you would receive a hotel room. You would have also received a confirmation letter to confirm what you had booked.

I'm sorry you did not like our open walkways. Many appreciate the fresh mountain air, over a standard interior hallway.

I have sent you a private message to find out what room you were in, as our beds should be comfortable, not hard. We will replace if needed.

Perhaps next time you will have a look at some of our sister properties? I am certain Banff Lodging Company has a room to suite your needs.

I stayed at the Fox Hotel & Suites with husband and friends in January 2014 and it was wonderful. We chose the Premium Loft Suite and it was very much like a contemporary cabin feel. There was a lovely wood fire smoke smell in the entire room (may not be good for asthma sufferers but I was okay with it, even though I'm allergic to cigarette smoke). The faux "cave" hot pool centered in the courtyard with rooms surrounding it was a charming touch. One thing folks should note (but this didn't bother us at all) was that if you decide to change into your swimsuit and walk to the hot pool, be forewarned that your hotel room exits onto open air (in January it was cold... like -20C cold, obviously) before entering the elevator area down the pool. So... just be aware of that. :) Bed was comfortable, pillows were comfortable, decor was great, kitchenette was handy, room was clean.... and the list goes on.

One big point off for having Chili's as the restaurant attached to the hotel, which is where you eat complimentary breakfast (the food was DIY pre-mixed glop pancakes, canned fruit, disgusting overcooked coffee... blech, low grade food). I would have preferred if The Fox Hotel & Suites had a more classier restaurant attached to it, in my opinion. The rooms were perfect, but why ruin it with a Chili's? This does not make sense to me. They should have a restaurant attached to it which is more like the "cabin" feel.

Room Tip: If you have allergies to wood fire smoke, inform the staff before choosing a room. I found the smell...

After considering accommodations in Lake Louise and Lake Moraine, we decided on staying in the town of Banff at the Fox Hotel & Suites and have no regrets whatsoever. It's in an excellent location in town and we thought it was a great place to base our Banff adventure out of. We were very happy with the room and the staff were exceptional. Highly recommend staying here whether you're a single, couple, or family visiting Banff.

Room Tip: Premium loft king suite only has one bathroom sink with not a lot of room. If you want two bathroom...

We stayed on a recent holiday to Canada, thrilled with our first choice of hotel. We had a standard room and it was fine for two, very comfy bed and fittings.Breakfast was very welcome as we found in many places that it was not included. We found the staff to be very heplful and approachable, loads of help with information etc

Lovely walkable distance to downtown, surrounded by great views, interesting design as corridors are outside, could be tricky in winter!

Loads to do in Banff, we loved everything about the hotel and area.

I stayed here with my family for 3 nights and we loved it. We had 3 rooms between 7 of us and found it great. Not sure about other rooms but all of ours had two levels which was a bit weird at first but in the end became quite useful for wanting to escape to another area without leaving the room. There were two tvs as well which was useful for if we wanted to watch different things. They have a Chillis restaurant there which was great also and we dined there twice because it was so convenient and tasty! The hotel isn't too far from the main town and is just far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle. Banff itself is beautiful and my uncle saw a herd of Elk in the river right inside town! I never had the complimentary breakfast but my whole family said it was lovely. The pool was awesome, SO hot and really cool.

All in all a great stay in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

It is a nice and cosy B&B, prefect for a quick night stay. The rooms are clear and nothing fancy, however the hot spring/ cave pool is interesting.

They provide kitchen ware so if u decided to stay in for a night that doable too.

Clear rooms in general.

We stayed in a basic one bed room. It was on the smaller size for a hotel room but certainly adequate and VERY comfortable !!! We loved the location...just a short walk away from downtown but far enough away from all the craziness. A Safeway grocery store is near by. Price-wise it's pretty standard for the area; one of the newer hotels in town. The underground parking was convenient. The breakfast vouchers were cost effective when compared to individual meal costs for the town. The breakfast was adequate and filling. Another waffle maker might be helpful though as the line for that was frequently long. All of the staff from the front desk to the breakfast was friendly, helpful and polite. We would definitely stay here again!
