We visited this hotel for three days in July 2012 , the last of seven hotels before a return to the UK.
The hotel was principally booked on the Tripadvisor reports rating this at number 3 in Banff and the associated photographs.
On arrival there was only one member of staff on reception at a very busy time .Although our previous hotels had air conditioning during the hot weather, this one only has it in the Suites and both our friends and ourselves only had queen rooms, The hotel was full and we coundn't upgrade
My son and myself headed for the great looking underground pool. It's tiny ,stiflingly hot in Summer and dirty towels were strewn around a couple of wet benches . Two families with young children were making the best of it. Theres an ice making machine in this area , but this was not working. Our allocated room was in the direct evening sun, and the door could not be left open due to the large amount of mosquitoes around at this time of the year
The room size is as reported by others-small , There is no room for cases and these have to rotated on and off the beds to unpack. The bath/shower are in one room with the toilet, but the handbasin was in the bedroom area. Hence split location for shower and shave etc. Room decor is tastfully dark and hides wear.
The breakfast is minimalist continental , coffee, tea , reconstituted juices and tinned fruit, dry pastries, diy toast and waffles.
We also tried the in house restaurant which is Tex Mex style and found it ok.
The one plus point is the young staff who have stayed over from the ski season, but at 219 dollars plus tax per night even they can't raise the review to average
I note this hotel is now rated by Tripadvisor as number 2 in Banff - the others must be really poor!!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and choose a suite in Summer. There are some ground floor shaded rooms that are a little better

We stayed in a suite and were disappointed to only have one night to stay! Room was clean, great little kitchen and living room area, beds and pillows very comfortable! Breakfast included - not just muffins, juice and coffee. Within walking distance to Banff Village but far enough to be quiet. They even included bus passes which made getting around so easy without having to deal with parking. We had an extra-long pickup so couldn't use underground parking (which was included) but easily found on street parking right behind the hotel. Staff were great in providing info and dining suggestions! Hotel prices are expensive in this area, but we felt the Fox hotel and Suites to be very reasonable for the area and we got a lot for the money. Will stay there again and will plan to stay longer next time! A great place!

We stayed in a Suite w separate living room and 2 double beds (downstairs). We were pleasantly surprised about the space and layout of the suite, location of the hotel (7-10 min walk to the city center on Banff Ave) and the contemporary furniture. Also we received one of the last rooms (main floor) and our request for upper floor was not respected we were lucky to get at least a corner unit and not one of the King Suites on the main floor where all passing guests would have been able to look straight into your suite (ask for at least 1st floor+)

We enjoyed the convenience of Chili's on the ground (in-/outdoors) and the interesting structure of the HOT TUB caves (no pool!). The breakfast at Chili's was just ok but worked well for our needs.

This place is fabulous - we stayed her for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The 2 bedrooms were large and beautifully finished, both with their own separate bathroom. Living area was quite large with excellent facilities for making your own meals if required. The road outside was quite busy but the windows were really well insulated and blocked out all the noise. The breakfast was quite ok being a continental type buffet. We loved our stay here and would thoroughly recommend.

I have stayed in a number of Banff accomodations before and the Fox Hotel & Suites are really good value for money. It is close to the Banff core (about a 10-min walk).
Rooms are big enough (although not spacious). It's nice to have a little kitchen.
Very nice hot tub/pool area.
It is also convenient to have the Chillie's restaurant on-site.
People cannot go wrong with this accomodation.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing away from Banff Avenue - as it can get noisy.
