We walked to the top starting in the town. You head out to the edge of town along the sidewalks for 0.5km until you get to the start of the walking trail, where there is a carpark for those with wheels.
Its a couple of hours up and back, obviously coming down is much faster. A moderate grade walk with a decent surface, though not suitable for wheelchairs and the like.
You need to be a fit walker, though you can stop as often as you like, and there were people in all age ranges from the young joggers to the older puffers.
No facilities at all one you start, so take a drink with you.
