Stayed here for 6 days. The place is basic but comfortable. A bit of a walk into town in the middle of winter but not too bad. We geared for skiers/snowboaders with deals on lift passes. Kichener was a good size with standard free breakfast. Great walk in fridge where you could store your own stuff. Very friendly staff which always helps. Recommend.

great hostel, we stayed with a couple of friends and enjoyed. Free parking help us, rooms were quite spacious and comfortable. There were some rooms just to sit back, relax, chill out, definitely a plus. Very close to everything, so I totally recommend.

This Youth Hostel serves the purpose but could improve its act. It was OK value for money, always good when you can cook your own food. However the kitchen layout is not well designed so people quickly clutter up the space. It was clean enough. The room (separate cabin) was warm and the bathroom/shower facility good but, again, the layout was poorly designed so a reasonable sized space was made to feel small. The heating unit sounded like a jet engine taking off, including in the middle of the night. The staff didn't know much about other local Youth Hostels - that could be improved but were nice to deal with. The location is OK, walkable from town but easier if you have a car, particularly in winter.

Positives
- Very comfortable beds
-Large Kitchen with large fridge and freezer so lots of storage space
-Helpful staff
-Good location
-Clean rooms
-Good WiFi
Negatives
-Lack of decent common room
-Kitchen could do with a clean
-Beds right by the door so if you have the bed by the door you get a cold blast every time the doors opened!!
-Lock that was very difficult to open on the door not perfect in the cold conditions.

We arrived in Banff on September 21st about four in the afternoon...the cheapest hotel we could find was $129 and it was nothing special...the next most reasonable hotel was around $150 and it was also nothing special. In terms of the hostel, the price was under $100; the location was excellent. I was able to safely leave my bicycle attached to the car out front. The room heat was okay with very little outside noise (once the people in the courtyard quietened down). As far as the internet went, there were three computers with no waiting. When you are just checking your mail, internet speed is no big deal. The kitchen was great with everything you needed to make yourself a plain breakfast. The fellow behind the counter was very helpful. I have no hesitation in saying if you are spending the night in Banff and you want to have some extra money for a great meal in one of the local restaurants, then stay at this hostel.

Room Tip: Second floor...rear of hotel is quieter.

I stayed for only one night, but I was impressed with the room and the very helpful guy at reception. The hostel is in a good location for walking into downtown banff and where you can go for food. You get free breakfast and there are computers and internet available, as well as lockers in the rooms. However, there were a lots of strange noises during the night, sounded like a knocking in the wall and this meant everyone in my room had issues sleeping, so make sure you bring ear plugs!

I stayed here with my fiancé,its about a 20 minute walk into town, the staff were great! the kitchen was average, there breakfast was toast, peanut butter and jelly, if you had eggs and what no you'd be able to make pancakes from scratch, with only water and coffee as a drink option.
Our room had like a loft section. with 2 single beds, they were rather uncomfortable.
there was no light on the loft. and only 1 ceiling light for down stairs. while we were staying it was nice and cool weather. but our rooms were so hot and stuffy with small windows. none of which were in the loft.
there internet was HORRIBLE!id only recommend one night stays! Im sure you could find better accommodation in town, and for cheeper.
