The trail is a modestly difficult and short hike (3.5 miles). The view is definitely worth the small efforts. As typical in Rockies, the weather can change from sunny to rainy in 20 minutes, and vice versa. So if weather is not good, just wait for 20 minutes and your patience might be rewarded handsomely.

Great hike, very muddy after all the over night rain and snow. Beware the mountain goats. Easy markers to follow.

Traveling with our dog and she turned out to be the best navigator for this trail. It is listed as “moderate,” but it is ALL uphill, steep, and narrow at times. We hiked 6/11/19 and the trail was muddy (puddles of mud), snow covered, or rocky and just plain uphill! The trail was difficult to find at times, but the snowy tracks helped. A nice couple coming down told us it was 10 mins to the top and well worth it. They must have been avid hikers because it took us a bit longer, but the views were incredible and breathtaking! It looks like the glacier comes out of the heavens on a partly cloudy day (which we had). Going back down the mountain was like being a kid playing in the snow! We ran down in snowy areas, ended up falling into hip deep snow and just kept going....laughing all the way! Total distance was about 2.48 miles. It took 1:40 hrs but that included stopping at the top for photos (and to catch our breath!) I’m sure in the summer/early fall, the trail is much easier to follow, but beware that it is currently muddy! Embrace the mud and trek on...you won’t be disappointed!

Did this trail end of May 2019 and faced a very snowy hike. Though it was quite difficult - the view on Saskatchewan glacier in the end was more than rewarding! Besides the glacier a very nice scenery. Made all efforts worth it.

Beyond this, it is scenic, landscape and sweeping views. It is located in Banff National Park and it it is terrific for short hikes.
