The last time I hiked this it took 30-45 min(this was really pushing it, expect 45min to an hour at a leisurely pace) to get to the top where you can START to get a nice view. Once you get up there, you can hike up a little further to the right and to the left of the path. Great view of the Saskatchewan glacier. Flowers blooming in July were AMAZING. Like nothing you've ever seen!

we choose this trail as we heard it was a bit of hard work for an amazing reward, too right! I haven't enjoyed a hike like this in a long time, the natural beauty was amazing even in early October. A must do, weather permitting... next year!

Our favorite hike on our trip to Banff/Lake Louise/ Jasper. If you do only one hike-Do this one! Views at the top are amazing-who knows how long the glaciers will be viewable? We took our lunch and sat at the top and just enjoyed the amazing views. Met a wonderful local hiker who answered all our questions and we really enjoyed chatting with him. Such an astonishing area!

The Parker Ridge trail was one of the highlights of our trip to Banff. The trail starts out with a good bit of a climb, but it does not last long and it was not a problem for occasional hikers. We went from hiking through the trees to stunted trees to above the tree line pretty quickly. The vistas open up at that point and keep getting better and better. Everyone says to keep to the left on the trail so you can get the best glacier views (they are right) but after we enjoyed that part of the trail, we explored off to the right side and were treated to more great views. Totally worth the effort and easily accomplished for those of us who do not regularly hie in mountain settings.

Wasn't sure at first if we should go but was worth it, in the end. Wonderful trail with great views not a hard hike either. I would definitely do it again!!!
