“Bumpers Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Bumpers Inn was very clean and well maintained. It was very quiet on a Friday night with virtually no sounds from adjacent rooms or the street. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it as a very good value for your time in Banff.

I stayed at Bumpers Inn in May for an end of ski season trip to the mountains. I was traveling with my friend and her dog, so Bumpers was our choice because they accept pets.

It's old looking, but clean. Rooms are fairly spacious. There is a fridge in the room. Prices are lower than for other hotels, we paid less than $200 for two nights. One drawback is that it's at the far end of Banff Ave, and walking into the main part of Banff could take 20+ minutes.

If you're on a budget &/or have a dog, it's a reasonable price and a decent place to stay. No bells or whistles though!

Of note: the cleaning staff left the hotel room door into the courtyard unlocked after making up our room (there's a door to the outside and a door to an inner courtyard in each room)...lock up your valuables!

An amazing setting on the edge of the forest, with trees growing inside the hotel courtyard, which is a beautiful place to sit. This location does mean that it's on the edge of town and therefore a bit too far out to walk into town, but on the flip side it means it is tranquil. The rooms are spacious, with big TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There's no wireless access and no laundry, both of which we think would be a helpful addition.

Room Tip: The lower rooms have doors leading out onto the shared courtyard and the upper floor rooms have balc...

It's a little bit of a stroll into town but doable.

Nice but no frills. Quiet and clean and place to stay like any decent motel. Would easily choose Bumpers again if we travelled to Banff again.

Couple in late 20s approves!

If you are in Banff and want a friendly, super clean, quiet place to stay make sure to choose Bumpers. It is on the edge of town but only a 10 minutes walk to the main area. The rooms are super clean, wonderful beds (the best I have had in a motel). The TV, in our room, was super large and there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The rooms open to an inner courtyard and I noticed many rooms have a balcony (ours did not).

The price was wonderful and the manager is so so friendly.

Very comfortable bed, big counter in the bathroom so no balancing act on the edge of the sink, hot shower, fluffy new towels, coffee maker, microwave and fridge, free wifi. Perfect. If you want the big lobby with the automatic doors opening and the pool and spa...this is not for you. Yes, it is a ten minute stroll along Banff Ave to the town centre, but 2 or 3 minutes will get you to a liquor outlet and a couple of restaurants. We are all too quick to drive everywhere...the walk will do you good. Yesterday, walking along Banff Ave heading out of town from Bumpers, there was a huge herd of elk...maybe 60....in a field with Cascade mountain as a background!
We stay here about ten times a year and have never experienced a wild party disturbing us.

Room Tip: We like the upper floor rooms as they have vaulted ceilings with clear cedar on them.

It wasn't fancy, was out dated, but it was clean, quiet, and out in the less busier part of town. Although, Saturday night got a little noisy with rowdies staying in the hotel, up till 3am. We stayed Sunday night, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Staff was very friendly. Room had all that was required, coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, blow dryer. It was cozy and warm.
