We stayed at the Rundlestone Lodge over the May long weekend. We had a standard room which included two queen beds and a small sitting area. The room was located on the 2nd floor at the front of the hotel facing Banff Avenue. Some of the rooms have balconies but ours did not - no problem since we were traveling with young children and probably would have preferred not to have one anyway. I'll summarize our stay with a list of pros and cons:

PROS:
- The lobby is very cozy with abundant seating and a large wood burning fireplace
- The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our entire stay
- At the time of booking we requested a baby crib which was set up and waiting for us in our room upon arrival
- Our room was large with contemporary decor, and extremely clean with plenty of room for all of our belongings
- Pool/hot tub area and fitness room are extremely nice with plenty of fresh towels
- Good location - only about a 15 minute walk to downtown Banff
- One of the most affordable hotels in Banff (and after staying there we are not sure why)
- Free wireless internet
- Shampoos and soaps were from Bath & Body Works, which is something you might only expect to find at a more expensive hotel
- Free underground parking (but if your vehicle is taller than 6'4" then you will need to park on the street in front of the hotel, which is also free)

CONS:
- No refrigerator in the room (although I believe they can provide one if requested)
- Beds were a bit too firm for our liking, but not necessarily uncomfortable
- The restaurant food was OK, but expensive considering the portions were small

As you can see, the list of PROS far outweighs the list of CONS. We had a very pleasant stay at the Rundlestone and would definitely stay there again in the future. We have been to Banff at least a half dozen times, and for the price (we paid $125 per night) the Rundlestone is certainly one of the best values in Banff.

What is there not to love about this hotel??!!! I have stayed at many much more expensive hotels that do not compare to the Rundlestone Lodge. The front desk staff was friendly and most helpful, the room (actually the entire property) was immaculate, the underground parking was so convenient, the location excellent, the price unbeatable! My only disappointment was that we could only stay one night.

we went to banff without booking any hotel at all but had seen the rundlestone lodge on the web so had already heard of it. we called in as we drove into banff to see if any vacancies and was greeted by a most friendly man on reception who told us a room was available and offered us the key to check it out before agreeing whih i thought was excellent hence to say we ended up staying for 3 nights instead of 2 as we enjoyed it so much the only let down was the restaurant but there were plenty of places down the road to eat and chilis is highly recommended aswell as boston pizza!

okay let me sum it up for ya, I paid $112 including taxes tourism levys the whol ball and wax for close to $100.00 you just do not get that anymore in Calgary or Banff unless your staying in a crack motel. This includes underground parking and a pretty nice pool, gym and hot tub. The lobby and sitting areas was quite nice. Mind you I did stay on a Tuesday night so I assume the weekend is a bit more expensive. The hotel is located away from the main center but only a 15 minute walk, and it is always nice to walk in banff so who cares. Anyways staff was friendly the hotel was nice, the bed was a king and comfortable the underground parking looked a bit sketchy from all the pipes hanging dow but I got it with a Toyota tundra so all is good. Anyways I hate to say it must bang for your buck ENJOY

My husband and I went to Banff for Easter weekend and stayed at the Rundlestone Lodge. We had the jacuzzi suite, and it was beautiful! Open-concept room with jacuzzi, bed, couch and fireplace, and separate bathroom with shower. As soon as we entered the building we could smell the wood-burning fireplace, and it was oh-so-cozy. Our room was also very clean, and I have pretty high standards when it comes to cleanliness. We had a king-sized bed, but it wasn't really comfortable, a little too hard. But everything else was so great that we really couldn't complain! Hotel staff were very friendly, and the pool and hot tub area very nice. We didn't eat in the restaurant, just because we had other things plans, but it looked really nice. The hotel is located right on Banff Avenue, very convenient location. Underground parking was great, too. Oh, and the hotel was very quiet. Though it was a long weekend and many rooms were occupied, we never heard a sound from any other room or anyone in the hallway. Very peaceful.

Overall we had a great experience, would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a 4-star hotel.
