“Mosquito Garden!!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Visited: July 2013.

Access: Short distance from downtown Banff, continuing on Banff ave to the very end and crossing the bridge. Parking is available inside the garden but may be busy. We originally went on a Friday around 11 am and the lot was full. We returned the next day at 9:30 am and the lot was mostly empty. One can also simply park around downtown and walk over.

Be warned that mosquitoes are ready to feast upon you. I was not able to take a picture inside the garden without getting harassed. Insect repellents just don't seem to work that well in Alberta in July!! We had to abort the visit. I also noticed other people doing just a quick walk about or spending less time there than we did. This was truly a shame as the garden looks really beautiful.

“Small pretty garden”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

It was a beautiful garden, but very small. More flowers would be nice. They could easily have more flowers and plants. Nothing compared to the nice big gardens in Copenhagen.

“Beautiful Garden”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

This is easy to walk to and a don't miss garden, if you like flowers, rocks, ponds, streams and interesting wood. It is very well maintained and is filled with blooms of all kinds.

“Heard a lot but nothing much”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We had heard a lot and were super excited to see the garden, but were dissappointed. There is nothing much for this month and most likely nothing would be for June. You may see some flowers in July.

“Fantastic gardens, lots of variety”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is a great place to visit and its free. It is located behind the Banff Park Headquarters, the big castle looking building at the top of Banff Avenue. There is a flow garden here that was planted long ago. There used to be ponds too, but they have fallen into disrepair and no longer used (too bad). You can easily spend an hour here walking through the gardens.
