Booked through the hotel to play a round. The hotel did not tell us that the clubhouse was located in the middle of the course or that there was a shuttle service between the hotel and the clubhouse so after walking nearly 3 kilometres we arrived. The staff were busy booking people in and really not very attentive. We were paired with another 2 players rather than on our own and again we didn't know this until we arrived at the first tee. What happened next could only be described as incompetence as we progressed through each hole it became slower and slower, however when we asked the Marshall what the problem was he explained that members of the local club were playing in a competition and they were slow. Added to this the head golf professional was providing a group lesson to between 7-8 people two groups in front of us and the Marshall wasn't prepared to say anything to any of them which each of us found astounding given we are all experienced players. There was a full field, and in the end two of our group walked off such was their frustration at the pace of play which in the end took us nearly 6 hours and all for the privilege of paying $240 plus club hire. The experience was ruined.
