“Pricey For The General Condition”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

The cost for a round of 18 with a cart $235 (week-day) seemed a little pricey for the overall condition of the course. Some of the tee boxes were not exactly in lush condition. The greens were probably rolling a 6-7 on the Stemph Meter. The traps hadn't been professionally raked in several days ( old foot prints and divots). The views were incredible of the surrounding mountains and meandering Bow River, but the Bow River had overflowed it's banks due to heavy rains and flooded part of the course a couple of weeks before playing. So in all fairness it just may have been bad timing, but there should have been a reduction of the green fees due to the current condition of the course.

“Didn't golf . . . visited for lunch”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Touring around Banff we decided to drive down to the Bow Falls. While there it occurred to me that lunch at the golf course, just a short drive more, might be nice - scenic, and quieter than heading back downtown with all of the tourists. It was a good call.

The course is beautiful and the surrounding mountains picturesque. Lunch on the patio was perfect. A nice glass of wine, tasty food, and a few of the 18th green was topped off by beautiful weather. A restful, quiet, and relaxing lunch.

We ordered "The Golf Bag" (see photo) to share. A bit "bar foolish" but it was good for lunch. The food we saw coming out looked good. The service was cheerful and helpful.

Want to see magnificence? Even if you are to a very good golfer it is certainly worth doing once, the views will take your breath away. Wildlife is abundant and you will feel the stress roll off your back. The air is fresh and clear and makes you feels so glad to be alive. Service is just great.

“Bucket List Golf Course”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

I attended an alumni reunion here in May and we enjoyed a round of golf at this iconic course. Nestled in the mountains that surround the Town of Banff, this is dramatic scenic golf at it's finest. The course was in unbelievably great condition for a high altitude, Canadian setting considering it was just the end of ski season and the start of spring. The course is a 10 minute drive away from the Banff Springs Hotel and there are free shuttles. The clubhouse is stunning and the food is of typically high standards found at other Fairmont properties. Everything is available for hire/rent and you will want a cart as the altitude and terrain of the course can be demanding. There is plenty of wildlife on course too and you are sure to see plenty of elk, deer, birdlife and even the odd coyote and bear. There are on-course food and beverage services too, with a roving bar-cart that comes to you, complete with sandwiches, coffee and of course ice cold beer. The iconic "Devil's Cauldron" is the 8th hole and daunting to say the least! If you love golf and you are in the Banff area, treat yourself to a round here. You certainly won't be disappointed. The staff are wonderful, particularly starter Pierre Ouellet & tournament director, David Andrew Rickards. "Bucket List" stuff! Bring your camera!
