I stayed at the Banff Inn for 1 night with a group of friends. We chose this hotel because of its location on Banff ave and in the town, and also because they could accomodate 6 of us in one room for a very reasonable price. We had a loft room for 6 people, with two double beds on the main floor and one in the loft. The room was clean, modern, and had a big flat screen on the main and an older tv upstairs. There was also a coffeemaker, microwave, and bar fridge. Check in was quick and easy, and there is underground parking so you never have to look for a place on the street. I was most impressed by the toiletries- a set of 6 of everything for the 6 of us- very unusual (and awesome so we didn't have to share!!). The hotel also offered us a free breakfast (continental in the dining room- quick and easy, but not fancy), and had a pool and hot tub. The hotel itself was full over the weekend, but all the staff were calm and pleasant, and you'd never had known it was full if not for the sign. It was quiet in our room, and very comfortable. I'd stay here again.

We stayed there for 2 nights. The Room was big and clean. You can walk to Banff Downtown in about 20 Minutes. Very Good Hotel for this price, incl. a sufficient Continental Breakfast. Main criticism: breakfast room is not big enough, so it´s possible, that a bus group has priority before the other guests. That´s not so good if you want to start your trip early in the morning with breakfast.

Loved the location--close enough to downtown to comfortably walk, but far enough away from crowds and noise. Breakfast was good, not spectacular. Good value for Banff.

My wife and I stayed at the Banff Inn for seven nights in August 2011. I carefully chose this property due to its location, complimentary continental breakfast, free garage parking, price, and general appearance on website. Overall, it was a good choice. The room was very attractive and pleasant, although on the small side. Breakfast food choices were average and the eating space was a bit tight at times, with tour groups coming through almost daily; but this is likely true of all the other hotels in this area and price range. Trays were provided-a sensible alternative is to take your breakfast back to your room. The breakfast hours are generous-there's plenty of time to go back down for more food and coffee or tea. The ladies setting up the self-serve breakfast worked very hard and were always very pleasant. Parking is in the basement garage-I would STRONGLY recommend that you be in a smaller car if that fits your needs-we had a compact rental, which was still very comfortable for the two of us. The parking spots are small, and I don't see how I would have managed in a larger car. And the smaller car seemed to be a better fit to the curvy backroads all around Banff. There is a lovely sauna and hottub to soak in after those long hikes in the park-definitely welcomed each evening-and the brass hooks on the wall nearby are a convenient place to hang the terry cotton robes thoughtfully provided by the Inn. The assistant manager was most helpful in a couple of ways. She very efficiently helped to arrange a full-day tour of Banff National Park, which we thoroughly enoyed. During our week, I did speak with her about a concern of ours, and she was very professional, understanding, and absolutely fair to our full satisfaction. If I returned to Banff (which I hope to!-it's one of the most beautiful areas in the world!) I would likely stay at the Banff Inn again. If you want to get away from the sizzliing heat of summer and see glorious mountains, the bluest-greenest lakes in the world, waterfalls, amazing glaciers, beautiful flowers, and lots of wildlife-go to Banff.

The king bed room was very small and dark with only a tiny window. The room felt like we were in an attic because of the angled ceiling. I will definitely pick a different hotel in Banff next time. They also have no outdoor pool or outdoor hot tub. Skip the Banff Inn!

Room Tip: Small room with very little outside light

well there was nothing wrong about the hotel,
its just that frontdesk people were so rude, not very professional,
felt like i was bothering them all the time,
interrupting when i'm speaking and just saying no. yeah, i dont think so, i dont know, etc.
felt like that they dont even want to talk.
i first felt it when i phoned them before arrival to confirm my reservation and ask few questions, i dont care if they were busy at that time ,i dont think that would be an excuse.
their managers should do some professional training about this.

My husband and I stayed here before starting a bike tour from Banff to Jasper. Our room was fresh (meaning that bed linens, window coverings, etc., looked new), clean, roomy with big windows. We had a special request and Dan Rodrigues, GM, went out of his way to accommodate us. The underground parking is secured. I found it to be a great location as we walked most of the town from our hotel which is a big plus because the traffic can get congested for such a small town.
