“Best location in Banff for proximity to restaurants, bars, shopping,”
Reviewed January 25, 2011

I've stayed in Banff numerous times and just discovered this little gem of a hotel. The location cannot be beat. Short walk to the popular bars, restaurants, shopping and sites. The staff were super helpful and accomodating and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub is huge and awesome. The room decor was a little outdated, but who really cares when the price is right?

After both working the holidays we were looking to get away together and relax. The decor is great, you cant beat the location and the included breakfast beat any Ive had. However the beds were super uncomfortable and the bed sheets were really very itchy. Our room was on the interior of the hotel but it was quite noisy. We were there for two nights and had bad sleeps both of them.

Spent four nights and enjoyed our stay. Yes there was some noise. Snow plow one morning and a few noisy hotel patron coming in after the bars closed. You couldn't ask for a better location and the staff was very helpful. We had takeout dinner in the upper lobby and the staff furnished us with wine glasses and silverware.

I just stayed at this hotel for 1 night last week. Stayed at several places in Banff and this place was great. Good location will pick this place for extended stay next time. Cozy rooms and comfortable. Stayed at 4 star in Calgary day before and Brewsters was better. I think their Aussies that own hotel.
Mountain feel room style, nice staff, Parking is worth it $5.00 underground. Breakfast included healthy and good selction for free. Girl in the breakfast room never stopped working. She sure like to keep neat piles of jam and cream cheese. Anybody complaining about this hotel is never happy.

I stayed at Brewsters with my husband and teenage son whilst on a weeks skiing holiday. Like some of the reviewers we had a room facing the main road but didn't find it noisy at all, probably due to the good double glazing( wish we could have taken it back to Wales with us).The room ,spacious and clean, was decorated in traditional Canadian rocky mountain style which we appreciated. Yes, the breakfast room was small and cafe style but that suited us when dressed for the slopes and saved a small fortune over the week in time and money looking for somewhere to eat in the morning. The town itself has restaurants for all pockets and tastes, a few interesting museums but a few too many gift shops selling the same type of thing. My 16 year old son's only bug bear was that he couldn't be served an alcoholic drink with his meal which he can over here if he's with his parents.

The Lodge was a perfect location to walk every where down town Banff , that is where it ends. We stayed in a room right on the busy road. There is a night club (HooDoos) kitty corner to our room . The noise started about 10 pm with the bass thumping in our room. Then because we had to have our window open for some much needed fresh air we heard all the screaming and goings on from the patrons of the bar outside while they smoked . There are metal roller shutters on both windows , I assume to keep the noise out , they don't keep any noise out. What they do however is make it like your are in a tin can and can't breathe. We are not old people and like to party too but this was ridiculous. The pine furniture in the room was rustic and suited the room well, however the lacquer finish on the chair arms needs to be redone as your sleeves stick to the now degrading finish. The hallway noise was a bit much too late at night. There is no bathroom fan in the bathroom that works so that was an issue with the steam from the shower. The shower door in room 225 needs some work as the water pours out onto the floor. We won't be returning to this place.

Dear Camper001,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
We are pleased that you found our location perfect for venturing to shops, restaurants, and attractions.
We are sorry that our great downtown location also had a negative effect on your stay. We do advertise ourselves as being a downtown hotel, and on some occasions there can be noise from the businesses in surrounding areas due to this. We do keep 24hr hour front desk staff at all times so if there are any issues, they can assist with resolving them.
We have acknowledged your concerns about the bathroom shower and furniture in our rooms, our maintenance team has currently fixed the issue with the shower door. Our furniture is sanded and stained twice a year as part of our spring & fall cleaning, but we have looked at this also. Thank you for bringing both of these issues to our attention.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We always find it helpful to have feedback from our guests, and will continue to improve our guests experience. We hope that you will let us show you what Brewster’s Mountain Lodge can offer another time!
