“Great location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

Brewster's Mountain Lodge was an amazing hotel!

I stayed here with friends for three nights in July 2014. We got a standard room with two queen beds. I knew there wasn't going to be a fridge in the room, which was a little bit of an annoyance, but we worked around it.

We didn't expect to get a balcony, which was a very pleasant surprise. It was very nice to sit there in the mornings and watch the street traffic and people walk by. Starbucks is nearby, and so are many other local coffee shops. As well as bars, restaurants, everything. Best breakfast nearby was Touloulou's. Just in the next building.

This hotel is perfectly central and is not a far walk away from the Bow River.

The room was quite hot in the nights/early mornings. The hotel does not have a/c which makes the rooms a little warm during the summer months.

The staff were very helpful when recommending day trips, especially the guy with the dreadlocks. What a cool guy. Mia was great when we checked in.

Parking was 5.25 per day, but it was very convenient and worth the price, because the other free parking lots have strict time limits.

The beds were comfortable, though all we needed was a sheet to cover us because of the heat. Bathrooms are LOVELY.

Didn't have a problem with noise, though we may have been a cause for it one of the nights, as a group of friends can sometimes be. (Sorry lol)

Overall it was a great stay and I will definitely return if I find myself in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony

Thank you for taking the time you write a review on your recent stay with us. We are so happy to hear you had an enjoyable stay. We hope the next time you stay you are able to let us know ahead of time if you would like a mini fridge in the room; we cannot guarantee it but certainly do our best to accommodate all requests. Like many hotels in the area, we do not offer air conditioning as we find it is not often needed - especially with the cooler temperature at night in the mountains. Very happy to see that did not put a damper on your visit and are looking forward to welcome you back at Brewster's Mountain Lodge when you are in the area again.

Kind Regards,

Staff and Management

We were a group of 5 female friends. We booked two side by side rooms-both were very large with two double beds in each room and a couch. It was a little confusing finding our room (the rooms are build in a square with a middle courtyard). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. One of our friends lost her wallet and passport mountain biking and one of the staff offered to go running along the trail and look for it (it showed up- someone found it and turned it into a nearby campground). It was nice to have a light breakfast each day and not take the time to go out for breakfast. There was a fresh fruit salad, yogurt, pastries, toast, cereal, juice and coffee. The hotel has a quaint log cabin type motif with handmade wood log beds and furniture. The location is very central in downtown Banff. There is a large grocery store and liquor store two blocks away. Our only complaint was the tight garage spaces (we had a large rental van) and the wifi was intermittent (worked best early in the morning) We would definitely recommend Brewster's Mountain lodge

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the courtyard are very quiet and have a nice balcony

We do hope you were able to fit within the parkade restrictions or that the front desk were able to direct you to other areas in town that offer parking. We loved the location of the lodge, right in the heart of Banff. The rooms are clean and of ok size. My kids loved the hot tub and the cookies in the afternoon. However, the parking was very tight and not easy to get into. Also the WIFI service was sporadic, not dependable at all.

I booked a deluxe king room. Placed on lower level, no elevator access, with window facing huge, noisy exhaust fan. No AC, room was hot, a small portable fan was provided. Called front desk for new room. Staff was very curt, finally, after 30 minutes, got passed on to another hotel staff and room miraculously became available. All rooms lack AC but some common areas have them. Breakfast room is not accessible and bare minimum food. Rooms are tired but clean, need make over.

Room Tip: Insist on top floor.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. Like many hotels in the area, we do not offer air conditioning as we find it is not needed often. We try not to assign rooms on the first floor but in the summer when it is busier and depending on the room type booked, those rooms are used because they are usually on the cooler side. We apologize that you did not receive the customer service expected from our front desk staff but have passed along your comments to our Front Office Supervisor to review with all of our staff. Our complimentary continental breakfast offers a variety of breakfast pastries, breads, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit; our front desk staff are available to recommend restaurants in the area for those guests who would like more options. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at Brewster's Mountain Lodge for a more enjoyable stay if you are in the area.

Kind Regards,

Staff and Management

We had a very short trip to Banff recently (one night and day only) - so very, very glad we booked at Brewster's Mountain Lodge. It is in the heart of town so we were able to take in all of the shops, sights, and general walk about town. It is just off the main street, and is a 2 minute walk from the park/river (farmer's market was on the day we walked that route). The rooms were wonderfully clean and the lodge was very quiet (it was fully booked while we were there). There is a simple breakfast on site which was convenient - more time to see the sights! The staff were friendly, and very helpful about what to see (again, our visit was so brief we really appreciated the tips from them). Oh, and we had a lovely view of the mountains from our room:-) I will stay here again should I find myself in the Banff area.

We stayed a couple of nights to go skiing but some guests were very noisy.
My son went out an rebuked a couple of middle aged people who should have known better - fair play to him.
But, the hotel does throw out those who are a pain to others so they get my vote! We listened to an encounter between the desk staff and a parent whose son had been chucked out for being noisy: wonderful!
Keep it up, fellas!

Have stayed at Brewsters many times over the years but it's been sometime since my last stay. Felt the hotel is in need of a renovation, looking a little tired. Was a little put out when arrived as was checked into an occupied room, went in and started to unpack before we realised someone's nightclothes were on the bed. The reception were very good and moved us to another room, when we came down to go for a meal they said they were moving us again to a quieter room - which happened to be next door to the occupied one, guess they put those people in the wrong room. Staff were very helpful however but was a little put out to be moved around the hotel so much. I ended up leaving my expensive camera and lenses in one of the other rooms and didn't realised until the next morning but the receptionist was awesome and got it back for me very quickly. Thankfully it hadn't gone missing! Would stay again but not in a hurry, feel there are better hotels in Banff.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review on your recent stay with us. We apologize for the mix up with the occupied room and appreciate your understanding. We are glad your found the staff to be helpful and that you received your camera quickly. It is unclear why you would have been room changed again after the mix up but we have passed along your comments to our Front Office Supervisor to look into this matter. We have undergone some cosmetic upgrades in the past year from new mattresses and carpets to flat screen televisions in all of our rooms. Again, we would like to thank you for your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at Brewster's Mountain Lodge should you be in the area.

Kind Regards,
