“Be prepared for the walk into town”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Rooms were large comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast was poor with very poor baked goods. Hotel staff seemed unwilling to accept feedback about breakfast and insisted I spoke to Restaurant manager who was defensive. It is a good ten mimute walk to town which might be a drawback for some. The spa was excellent. Internet was good and free. Our rooms looked out onto the roof and smoke from the chimney tainted the smell in our rooms.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms looking onto the roof as you will get the smell from the chimney.

3 night stay. enjoyed the room & could just see Cascade mountain through the window. Very quiet and slept well in very comfy beds. Room big enough because we did not spend that much time in it. The only downside was that our window looked over the back of the hotel and the flue of the fire in the lobby, therefore the room smelt quite smokey which seemed to be worse by the third night. If we had been staying longer would have asked to be moved. staff friendly and helpful. Had full breakfast twice and thought the price reasonable for how much food was available. We did not need to eat for the rest of the day until dinner!! Shuttle bus excellent idea. Used it to see all the route around the town.

Our stay at the Bnaff Cariboue Lodge was a very pleasant experience. We would have liked to stayed longer but our itinerary would not permit us doing that.
The entrance is very inviting and pleasant. Friendly personal. Our room was just nice and clean as it could be!!! It was in the mountain theme with beautiful fall tree paintings on the walls, small fake deer heads for racks, nice soap/ shampoo ; just a nice place to stay. We had bus service just a few steps from the door which we really did not need the bus for the lodge is close enough into downtown it was a nice walk but we had a peron in our party who was to have knee surgery in a few months do we choose he bus.
We had breakfast one morning in the restaurant that I highly recommend. the buffet was excellent.
Would have loved to have had dinner there but time would not permit but the menu sounded equally as good as breakfast.

Room Tip: Our room was small for three but we did fine. Very nice.cant really tell you which floor or directi...

We stayed in Banff for a few days before taking the "Rocky Mountaineer" train to Vancouver - which was breathtaking. Caribou Lodge is quite a large establishment (190 rooms) but the staff are friendly and helpful. They have tried to create an atmosphere of a log cabin, and so the decor tends to be brown and darkish, and the rooms are a bit small. We had a room looking into the inner courtyard, and so had virtually no view but it was nice and quiet. The food was quite good, although not really memorable, but dinner was expensive. The location is a ten-minute walk from the centre of Banff, which is fine the first once or twice but became a bit tedious as the road is just a string of hotels.
Banff itself is a pretty little town with plenty of sightseeing. The shopping is extensive but you can buy only touristy stuff. We hired a car for two days (free parking at the Lodge), and so we visited Lake Louise and many other local areas. It is all quite beautiful.

Room Tip: Rooms adjoining the inner courtyard are a bit dark, but nice and quiet. Views from the roadside roo...

My sister and I really enjoyed our four nights here. Very comfortable and the level of service is superb, something we rarely get in this UK. Great soak on the hot pool, rooms very well appointed, restaurant serves good food. The Concierge service most helpful with booking tours and supplying information. Banff has the best location of anywhere I have visited!

Room Tip: If you want a room with lots of light, ask for an outward facing one.

only stayed one night but room (two queen beds) was nicely refurbished and clean. lots of hot water. we had the breakfast buffet which at $15.00 we thought was good value. free parking and internet is a bonus. also free roam bus tickets so we walked into town (15-20 mins) and then bussed back!

used the spa and steam room.. needed more steam but the hot tub was very hot. think it could get very busy in the ski season!

will stay again :)

Room Tip: first floor or above.. there were rooms in the "basement" and near the pool which i suspec...

We stayed for 2 nights then went back to stay for another 3 nights after going to Jasper and back. The hotel was good but not excellent which is what I thought it would be. The staff are great at reception and were very informative about the area. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk into town which was quite nice after a big dinner. The car park was a little narrow but you are allowed to park in the side streets around the hotel if you didn't want to manoever your car in the underground spaces. The rooms were fine albeit a little dark as the windows were smallish. On our second stay we stayed there as they gave us a discount on the room rate so we stayed in the jacuzzi suite for one night and then a basic room for 2 nights. The wifi was pretty rubbish around the hotel though the lady at reception did something to the phone and it worked better for a bit which was a bit odd. All in all a good hotel but nothing special.
