We spent two nights there on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Perfectly located between Banff and Lake Louise with it's own beautiful setting, Johnston Canyon.
Attached restaurant/bar great addition. Cabins are VERY close together; many with front porch view of other cabins and parking areas. Staff, especially in dining area very professional and helpful. What we didn't expect was the amazing amount of visitors that the canyan attracts so if you wanted to hike it without huge crowds and waits, you would need to go very early or late in the day

Room Tip: if you want a view, be very clear when you are booking

We had another perfect stay at Johnston Canyon Resort. This was our second year at the resort and again, it did not fail to please everyone in my family. Julia at the front desk even recognized us from last year! She helped us get checked in smoothly and showed us the huge selection of videos to choose from. The cabin was immaculately clean and very comfortable and the meal in the dining room was excellent! We will definitely be returning again!

We stayed there 3 nights and had a great experience.

The "cottage" are average, and to be honest, the beds need to be changed! There are very uncomfortable.

However, the location is great. It's awesome to be able to wake up and start your hike of the Johnston Canyon.

Also, the silence and tranquility "kinda" make up for the beds :-)

The staff is super!

The Johnston Canyon Lodge can be highly recommended. We had the cheapest lodge house for two people (340 CAD/d). Nevertheless it was enough space for both of us. The rooms were clean and the beds were fantastic. We really appreciated the small refrigerator and the private parking spot at our cabin. The personal was very friendly. The nearby restaurant serves basic food like hamburger, steak and salad in a good quality and for a reasonable price. The location of the lodge was perfect as it took us about 25min to get to Lake Louise (town) and Banff. Be aware that the accomodation doesn't provide WLAN.

Room Tip: The larger cabins provide a better view on the mountainside, but you will also have a glimpse from the smaller ones.

Our family had a lovely stay at Johnston Canyon. Julia at the front desk gave us a warm reception and checked in on us during our stay. The staff was wonderful and took great care to make sure our family was enjoying our visit. The hike to the falls and ink pots was beautiful and rewarding with breathtaking views. Our cabin was clean, rustic and quiet. We can’t wait to go back!
