THE SERVICE: We are a 50-something couple who stayed here for 2 nights to determine if this place would be nice for a honeymoon (for a 30-something couple). During the short wait to check-in, we had an opportunity to observe the front desk staff who were dealing with two people in front of us, one who seemed to have a petty complaint but who seemed to expect an unreasonable resolution. The front desk staff, especially the supervisor, were probably the best that I have ever seen! They did not get frustrated with the 20-something but stayed matter-of-fact in their explanation, amazingly courteous without condescension and seemed genuinely interested in reassuring the customer. Our opinion about the customer service continued throughout our 2-day stay although we did not see any other problems being dealt with. The staff seen to be happy to be here. THE ENVIRONMENT: This hotel consists of several condo-like buildings offering a variety of rooms and set-ups. It can appeal to everyone: from families, to couples, to a bunch of mates just wanting to have a week-end bonding. As we walked up the exterior stairs to our suite above the lobby, we saw all the people enjoying the outdoor hot tub. There was some music (not live) playing and the place had a "vibe" about it. We were initially concerned that our location might be noisy but we both enjoyed seeing happy folks on vacation and later, after the hot tub closed, it was a quiet place indeed. There is a Bar-B-Q on the property and we saw it in frequent use. A nice touch for sure. There is excellent coffee available in the hotel lobby.
THE CONDO SUITE: Our suite was on 2-levels and very cosy. On the lower level was a full kitchen, a table set with dishes (a homey touch) a bathroom (with sink & toilet) and a small living room area with a wood-burning fireplace. The balcony, with the large outdoor jacuzzi, was on this level, with the door from the living room opening onto it. And what a view !!! Just what my hubby wanted for the honeymoon couple ! And when it got dark, you could see the lights of Banff Avenue down below. Very pretty. Upstairs was a loft that had the very comfortable bed and a small bathroom with a regular tub. As stated in a previous review, a slight negative is that there is no room for a dresser. The only drawers are in the bedside tables. The loft bedroom overlooks the living room area creating a feeling of spaciousness. There is a large window high up on the living room wall so that you can see the mountain view from the loft.
OUR STAY: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have liked to have a spend a full week here. The condo style is perfect for us. There is no restaurant on site so that might not appeal to those folks who enjoy having breakfast in a restaurant. But for us, we liked having breakfast in the condo and starting our day in a very leisurely way. Of course that means that you must stock your frig with what you will need. We noticed that the hotel has a "Breakfast in Your Frig" package that can be purchased if you book ahead of time. What a great idea and the items are a great start to the morning. We are from Calgary and know Banff fairly well. Our purpose was not for sightseeing so we were in no hurry to leave the condo each morning and we wanted to return to it early in the evening to enjoy the hot tub and fireplace. We were very pleasantly surprised that we had daily service of the room. We had not expected it, in this type of lodging, and on the first morning I did not leave a gratuity that I usually place out for the housekeeping staff. We would certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. When we were checking-out, we booked a 3-night stay for the honeymoon couple, and again, we were impressed with the excellent front office staff.

After travelling to ski resorts in the Rocky Mtns. for the past 9 years, we just spent our best week yet in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada and the Hidden Ridge Resort was perfect for our family! The Hidden Ridge Resort is in a nice secluded location, but close enough to the action in downtown Banff. We all enjoyed the hot pools overlooking the gorgeous snow covered mountains. Our condo was very clean with a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds for us all. The service was amazing, they brought us anything we needed and kept our condo clean all week. We all want to go back.

Our family recently stayed at the "Hidden Ridge Resort" in Banff Alberta - Our experience was truly memorable. The staff were excellent and true professionals in the industry. The rooms were very clean / the out door hot tubs with an amazing view of the mountains were a great way to relax after a day of down hill skiing. The hotel is affiliated with a ski rental shop - so no need to return to a busy store - rentals could be left at the front desk and the affiliated spa "Red Earth" was one of the most pampering experiences we have had. Thank You all - we will be back!

Our sister hotel, the Inns of Banff, has a great selection of equipment and great rates (not to mention special discounts for guests of our hotels!). Drop us a line or check our website for more information. Thank you for the nice compliments.

We found this hotel by chance as it is really set back into the woods at Tunnel Mountains resort area of Banff. We had no bookings but the front desk staff was very helpful and quickly offered us a nice suite which we could not refuse. We found all the staff are extremely helpful and the hotel has a really relaxed feel about the whole place. The resort is arranged in a complex of town houses with the bigger family units taking up both the ground and upper floors. Apart from having the usual views of the mountains around Banff, this resort has a nice hot pool with a view and a BBQ area although we forgot our swimsuits! The resort is rather remote but guests are given free rides of the Banff ROAM bus services which stops at top of the road. Usual free wireless internet in room and lounge plus free coffee/tea at lounge area, but the friendly staff really tops the list of services at this resort.

We had a one bedroom ground floor suite which is fully furnished with wine glasses and full cooking facilities. The lounge and room are not big but very reasonable size for a couple although one can also use the sofa bed for children or even another couple. The lounge has a lovely fireplace and the whole atmosphere in the village is so nice that we decided to light the log fire and stay in for dinner. Both logs and fire lighting sticks
are provided and the staff can also deliver logs to room (I guess it is a service for the physically challenged or older guests who cannot manage to move logs 20 yards from the wood shed). The bathroom is a bit small but with sufficient accessories and fittings for a very pleasant stay. The free WIFI internet is one of the best connection in our two weeks travel across BC Canada. It is a very quiet and comfortable resort so local
animals do come to visit. We had a deer visiting our patio door during our breakfast although we decided not to feed it as it looks healthy and can forage for itself.

This is the best resort we stayed at in our two weeks travel in Canada, and it was excellent value for money too, we will be back!

We booked with Hidden Ridge 5 years ago and returned this spring break with our two teenagers and two extra teenagers. The layout of our room was perfect. All four kids downstairs, dining and living area on the middle floor and mom and dad in the loft...I never had to see their mess. Everything was perfect. The kids could ride the bus downtown at night and we could relax after a five long days of skiing. Of course, the snowboarding and skiing are the best you can get! Hope we can get back again some day....
