The hotel is actually close to downtown- only a 20 minute walk downhill and they give you a free bus pass to use anytime- we always used it to come back (its a 20 min ride). No restaurant in the hotel- but rooms have a kitchenette that was great. There is a small store only 10 minute walk away as well (best to get groceries in Calgary or Canmore to save bucks). Lots of parking avail plus an underground garage which would be perfect in the winter. The front desk is fantastic- they were very friendly and accommodating, especially for us as we were traveling with an infant. Very helpful. They provided us with a playpen- not the ideal style but useful and clean. The room was # 132, a condo with 2 queen beds. It was clean and nicely appointed. A few stains on the rug and worn out wall paper but over all very nice and cozy. It has a nice big flat screen tv in both the living room and in teh bedroom. Also a DVD player in LR, but it didn't have a remote control so they had to bring us one. There was an iron but no board so again we called and they promptly brought one to us. Like I mentioned, the staff are great. The things we didn't enjoy were loud trucks doing work onsite, plus there is a campground for RV's next door and the bus stop, although convienent, was right outside our room and we could hear the bus iddling (not a biggie but when you have a young one that startles easy - its a consideration) and being the end unit- we often heard the noise from the trucks as well (seems like they all drove loud diesels). Next time I would try to get a room far from the road. So really- hardly anything negative to say. When we arrived, the room was freezing- so we cranked the heat up- but notice that there was a very strong breeze coming from the door and also around the window in the bedroom (it was missing its casings or moldings- you could see right outside!). We actually had to use heavy clothes to block out the cold air! So comfortable, but not a huge deal either. Other good things to mention- firewood is provided for the fireplaces- which is very nice at the end of the day. Free newspapers in the lobby. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the hot pools as much as we would have liked but that was due to us traveling in the fall with a little one (so I cant comment on the pools). One thing we found out late which would have been nice to know at check-in is that staying at any of the Banff Lodging Co hotels allows you access to the other hotels amenities (like the cool pool at the Fox or the huge enclosed pool at the Inns of Banff). Overall- I'd come back and stay for sure. I like the location and the ambiance.

My husband and I were going to Banff for our 20th anniversary and wanted the perfect place to stay. After researching many hotels and resorts we chose Hidden Ridge and was extremely happy with our choice. From the time we checked in the staff was so very helpful in making sure we had a room we were happy with. We asked for a location towards the end that gave us a little more privacy. We rented a 1 bdrm deluxe condo and it was plenty big for the two of us. Not alot of space to put your clothes but we managed to find space by using the shelf in closet and also the ledges to put small things like binoculars, cameras, etc. When we needed anything they were there practically before we hung up the phone. They even sent a complimentary bottle of wine to our room. Rooms were very clean, lobby was beautiful and always with fresh coffee. The outdoor hot tub really was a huge plus. We used it every night. There's no air conditioning but it was not a problem in mid-September as we were able to leave our bedroom window open at night and sliding patio door during the day. Excellent location, a 20 min walk to town (downhill) but a little harder coming back since it was uphill. Shuttle bus picks up right in front which was very convenient for going into town and not having to find a place to park. I would highly recommend this place and should we ever go back to Banff it's definitely where I will book our reservation.

beautiful quiet chalet looking condos. although we didn't have a loft it was still great. the kids would have loved it more if it had a swimming pool. great having a separate bedroom and living area; put kids movie in the bedroom, could continue watching ours in living room after kids asleep. the Keg BBQ pkg. deal was wonderful especially when we found out we could utilize the small bbq right at our door ... but Keg needs to provide at least something for condiments for kids burgers. wondrous having the kitchen so we could clean up and especially store our items that needed refridgeration and to freexe our freezer packs. wished we could have stayed longer ... I stayed here with a group of girlfriends, and we loved it! Tons of space for us all, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the real wood fireplace! The location is a ways from main street Banff, but with a free shuttle it is very convenient to get into town.

The hot tub is fantastic- the only downside is that it closes at 10pm- would be better if they pushed that back to 11 or 12.

The beds were very comfy, and having 2 bathrooms was great as well.

We have stayed at Hidden Ridge in the past and have always had a positive experience, but the recent renos that the resort has gone through has raised it to a whole new level of amazing! The service at the front office was very professional and incredibly accommodating. The rooms were amazing, beautifully decorated in luxurious alpine style...we stayed in one of the condos with the games room in the basement, a foos ball table, large screen tv, a Nintendo Wii system. Although we did not have our children with us, it would be ideal for families or larger groups and will be sure to book it for our next family stay in Banff. The location is perfect, tucked away on Tunnel Mountain away from Banff Ave. When you step our onto your balcony you are surrounded by amazing mountain views yet you are minutes from downtown. The new hot tubs are gorgeous, and family friendly and the views from them are incomparable as well....All around an amazing stay!
