“Clean...but loud.”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

We rented the two bedroom unit with the loft and games room; expensive but worth it if you have kids or 6-8 people.
The kids loved the Wii in the basement and the Foosball Table, and a tv in every room for each of them.
Hot tub and pool were nice, but seemed to have moments where it was more of a young crowd that was more into partying.
Louder atmosphere on the grounds than I was expecting...lots of people in their 20s that didn't seem to care about the other guests.

Thank you for the review and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay in the games room and with your positive feedback. We are sorry that some of our selfish guests were not more considerate to noise levels. We do have security on site overnight on the weekend and we have someone on duty 24 hours a day to respond if necessary. Ultimately, we are glad you still enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Checked in without any difficulties, provided with kindling for fireplace. Four guys, 2 bedroom loft condo.
No parking available by condo and underground parking lot has height limit below 6'9"
Condo very clean and modern. Beyond the pull out two seat sofa there was no other comfortable chairs to sit on in living room area.
Strict no outside drinks policy for hot-tub area and frequent trips to obtain plastic cups of water from reception was allowed.
Prompt and regular bus service into Banff - free bus passes are available at reception by request.
Wifi was painfully slow.
Overall, a beautiful, peaceful location and clean, modern condo.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Three things that may help you in the future: We are getting a property wide wifi upgrade this summer, we keep a few extra armchairs that can be delivered to your room upon request and we are working at getting some of our sofa beds replaced - ultimately making your stay more comfortable.

I booked a Jaquzzi (private hottub suite) OMG! this suite is worth every penny. The view alone of the Banff townsite from your room is worth it. The balcony is very private. You have your very own 4 person hottub to enjoy. Its nice and warm to climb into at night and stare up at the stars and moon. YES parking is limited but if you come early enough you can get a stall. The hotel gives out free bus passes to use all day. Bus service is great if you time it right, the buses are always on time. I had my bag get left behind therefore needed a lot of tolietries, The front lobby was understanding and helped me out with some items. They were always quick to answer any question, provide recommendations on great sites. There is a wood burning fireplace and free wood and kindling is provided. In this suite there is a full size kitchen, you can prepare all your meals. They do have a curfew on the outdoor hot tub and it's great cause after 10pm you do not hear any noise. I highly recommend this resort to anyone searching for a great stay in Banff, prices are a little higher then other hotels but so much is included. the only downfall is no restaurant is on site, but there are free bus passes and most places offer delivery if you want to order in.

We booked for three nights, the first week of May. When we arrived, the staff was polite. We stayed in a 1 bedroom with a loft and balcony. The room was freezing cold, as 2 windows had been left open and it was -5C outside. We turned up both the upstairs and downstairs thermostats and then left to tour Banff. We returned 4 hours later and the room was still cold. We started a fire in the wood burning fireplace and waited another hour. I finally called the front desk, who then sent over maintenance. He informed me that it was hot water heating that took a while to heat but also that a valve was closed upstairs that he had to open. We were told all was good now. We came back to our room late the next night to a sweltering sauna. I had shut off the thermostat to the upstairs zone prior to leaving in the afternoon but it was still pumping out the heat. I called the front desk once again but was told they were gone for the night. We ended up finding the upstairs valve ourselves and shutting it off and then opened the windows. We had one night left to stay and decided by that time that it wasn't worth moving for one night. We would adjust using windows, fans, etc. When I checked out, I told the front desk staff of our experience. There was no apology offered and no offer of trying to improve the situation. Needless to say, I was not very impressed by our experience there. The hot tub and pool were nice but that was about it. We will not be staying there again.

Room Tip: There appeared to be newer units available. Ask for a newer/upgraded room.

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay as much as we both would have expected. We endeavour to guarantee the ultimate comfort for all of our guests and we understand the importance of the relation between room temperature and comfort. We have kept a close eye on the room since your departure and we have discussed the issues surrounding why and what happened with our maintenance staff in order to better prepare them for having to deal with this type of temperature issue again.

This was our second stay at this property and this time we spoiled ourselves with the jacuzzi suite. Customer service was excellent, the room was extremely clean. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the view/privacy from the hot tub was breathtaking. We love that the property is out of town a bit and therefore quiet. There is a grocery store and liquor store a short walk away. We saw deer every morning from our deck. Parking can be a bit cramped but well worth the hassle.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the one bedroom suite and king jacuzzi suite, both are spacious and can easily acc...

Only have 2 negatives - 1- the cable sucks. Its 2014. Come on. In particular no tv guide, cant find out what shows are playing on what channels. Super frustrating.
2 - if your in a bottom unit the people above you are REALLY LOUD(even when they're being quiet). Worth the extra $$ for an upstairs room

We chose this for a ski trip last weekend and we were happy with it overall. Check-in and out was polite, friendly, and efficient, the room was well-maintained, clean, and comfortable (with a nice view out the back door too) and there is a great outdoor hot tub and hot pool. I like the ambiance of a wood-burning fireplace, the full kitchen is very convenient for a ski trip, and the bed was comfortable (clearly not an old mattress.)

Soundproofing is worse than average (very loud noises from the room above us in the early evening) but that is my only real issue with the place. I think we've stayed in slightly higher-end properties at the same price, though, and similar properties in Banff for a little less money. It was a busy weekend though and nearly everywhere was higher than normal, so I don't know if this is always an issue.

We stay in Banff/Canmore very often in ski season, and Hidden Ridge is a property we'll return to, I think. It was nice to be a little away from "downtown" at a property without a ton of hard-drinking party skiers. There were a lot of families, too. I don't think I'd choose it if we were wanting to party, though, because it definitely does not have that vibe.

Room Tip: Our main floor suite had a ton of noise from the suite above. Not recommended.
