I stayed at Hidden Ridge this weekend and have to say that after many visits to other places, it is the best hotel to stay at. We stayed in a three level room that had three bedrooms and a kitchen. With three couples staying in the room it didn't feel like we were tripping over each other. The hot tub has got the coolest view. The staff are also second to none. Always trying to please and take care of you in any way they can. I prefer now to stay out of the banff town site. It is a short bus ride down or cheap cab and you truly feel like you are staying in the mountains.

We stayed at Hidden Ridge at the end of our trip and only managed two nights but the feeling from all of us was that we would have happily stayed for much longer! From the moment you arrive the office staff make you feel very welcome and the roaring log fire in the reception welcomes you in! On booking I had requested politely that I would love a mountain view and it was mentioned when we checked in that they had taken this into account when placing us. And what a view! We were in a three bedroomed apartment with the two doubles downstairs alongside a shower room. On the level we had a kitchen, dining room and living room with fireplace and balcony. Upstairs on a mezzanine level there was the main double which had open views out of a high placed window to the mountains! Bliss when you woke in the morning - especially as on the first morning it was actually snowing when we woke up! There was also a bathroom upstairs.

We made use of the outdoor hot tubs - whiich had amazing views and were very well used. The area was clean and well organised - with towels etc available for everyone. They also offered changing rooms for those not willing to brave the cold to walk back and forward to their rooms!

We made use of the fire on our second night as the snow continued and it was much colder. The firewood and kindling is free of charge and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Under ground parking is available if you need it - although very tight spaces if you are driving a larger vehicle! There are spaces outside the rooms but if you are out late you may find them all taken by the time you get home!

All in all we loved this place and would highly recommend it. I really hope to be back one day!

We stayed here with another couple and were impressed with the views and the service. One really great thing was that there was no nickel and diming. If we needed something, we got it. There were no annoying "resort fees" for anything (except, if you wanted, wine or s'mores kits). There was ample wood for the fireplace, and even help getting the fire started. The DVDs were free to borrow. The lobby had beautiful fresh flowers (the Banff Fairmount, a much pricier place, had silk flowers!), a roaring fire in the fireplace, and continual coffee service. When there was a problem with the dishwasher, someone came in a reasonable amount of time to fix it. Our unit was not cleaned one day, and our garbage did not get taken out until we took it out from under the sink so it would not be missed by housecleaning. I agree with other reviews that say the furnishings were somewhat tired, but they were comfortable and clean and if you just thought "rustic", they were fine.

After checking in the concierge handed be a neatly wrapped package and said "Here is your kindling..." The wood burning fireplaces are a great touch and give a great rustic feel.

The rooms are modern, clean, and well maintained. They have free wifi.

The resort is a tad hard to find and is not close to downtown Banff. There is no restaurant, but there is a delivery service for food from a wide selection of restaurants in town. The delivery arrived in under 30 minutes, faster than going to a restaurant!

We wholeheartedly recommend this resort for:
- Couples
- Families with kids
- People with dogs
- College folks
- People on ski-trips
- Groups of friends
- People on business

Not-recommended for:
- People who want to party in downtown Banff nightclubs.

Stayed at Hidden Ridge Resort for one night on our way to BC. Booked online since they had a fall sale and got a one bedroom condo for $120 a night. Once we arrived Oliver at the front desk said we could upgrade our room for cheap if we were interested since it was a Tuesday and they weren't booked up. Got a king loft suite with a wood burning fireplace and a private hot tub on the balcony with an incredible mountain view for $200!!! The room was unbelievable! So clean and well kept, it had a fully stocked kitchen (all the dishes, cutlery, etc. were spotless!), the robes in our room were so comfy, the bed was the best bed we have EVER slept in, even the toiletries provided were incredible! Even though we had a private hot tub we still wanted to check out the hotel pool facilities and were impressed with those also! The hot tub was so hot and so huge that you could swim in it, the cooler pool was the perfect temperature with a nice little waterfall and there was even a sauna! Honestly we can't think of a single negative thing about our stay there. We were so impressed that Hidden Ridge Resort will be the ONLY place we stay at when we are in Banff! Thanks to all the staff there! You made our visit to Banff perfect!!! Have told all of our friends about where we stayed and will be back in a few months!
