Owner description: There’s no comparing the emerald green waters of Minnewanka with any urban landscape. Mountain ridges stretch as far as the eye can see, eventually blurring into a blissful cascade of colours.

Amazing and most scenic place on Earth. One gets lost in Nature's lap and is so relaxing and soothing that time flies unnoticed.

I recommend you visit the lake and climb on the rocks and explore. When done make sure you drive across the dam. You will see rams along side the road so be careful.

Enjoy this drive in the early morning or later in the evening. The chance to see wildlife is better.
There are wonderful locations, we especially liked and recommend Johnson Lake, Two Jack Lake and Bankhead. Lake Minnewanka itself is nice too, but falls short to the other two smaller lakes.
Johnson Lake is absolutely fantastic for a picknick or BBQ.

The lake was beautiful and the boat tour with Brewster was informative. We took the ride as part of the package that included a tour of the Columbia Icefield and the Banff Gondola. This is less spectacular in terms of dramatic effect and wow factor but we enjoyed it tremendously. Lake area is still closed due to flooding but boat tours on lake just resumed and a tour bus took us to the site. Lovely ride to the docks and beautiful setting on the lake. Tour guide was very informative about the history of the Lake area and the wildlife. We enjoyed the ride.
