Had booked this before leaving the UK and was surprised how much there was to do. Once up the walk to the top is a good hike and burns off a few calories to justify something to eat in the cafe! Signs giving information along the climb were good.

Staff helpful land great with the kids. We spent most of a day here.

First off I highly recommend the gondola to everyone visiting Banff. It's definitely worth it and the views are spectacular. It is a short 10 minute walk to the observation deck at the summit where people actually lived and hiked up to every day to conduct astrological studies on cosmic rays. There is a good little gift shop and not over priced at all as is the norm with such attractions. The staff wherever you go make or break a trip and Brewster definitely hired a great bunch of people welcoming you with a smile on and off the gondola. To sum up great attraction definitely worth it just make sure it's a clear day!!

This was my second trip up the Gondolas to the top of Sulphur Mountain and just as impressive as my last!
The views are absolutely breath taking, the gondola itself is an experience and the history behind the mountain is interesting.
I would definitely recommend this trip to people of all ages. It's a great experience.
The price is average for this kind of thing but look out for the 'package deal' it covers all the attractions around Banff (Ice Explorer, Lake Cruise, Glacier Skywalk and Gondolas) and saves $$$.

We couldn't have picked a better day. Snow had fallen the night before. It was a winter wonderland and the sky as Blue as can be. Take the time to walk the entire boardwalk. Will take about an hour return if you stroll with little ones.

Walked up the Sulphur Mountain trail which is 5.5km of switchbacks to the top gondola station in May and while getting up quite easily the snow was still thick and the trail slippery. It takes about 2 hours and passes under the gondola numerous times.
Views from the top on a clear day are magnificent and you can easily spend a couple of hours up here.
Up until mid May you can walk back down to the bottom again but after this you are required to take the gondola at $17.50 one way.
However while we were there they were offering the ride back down for free until the start of June so cash in on this if it is still on while you are there.
Definitely do this activity.
