Have been on the Banff gondola several times in both summer and winter. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. The views are great plus you get to walk further on the skywalk to the cosmic ray station national historic site and the old meteorological station. the food in the cafeteria at the top isn't the best, but get a coffee/drink and enjoy the view.

The Banff Gondola is one of my favorite things to do whenever I come to Banff, the views from the top are absolutely amazing! The hike to the Cosmic Station at the very top is well worth it, even if it is chilly and windy. Make sure you wait till a clear day before doing this, nothing more disappointing than getting to the top only to see clouds down below. Going first thing in the morning is recommended unless its cloudy out, it can get really windy at the top so make sure you bring plenty of warm clothing with you, especially during the winter. Be warned if you have a fear of heights, the gondola ride up can be quite scary, especially as you begin the journey back down. If you are fearful of heights, sit facing forward going up and backwards going down is my recommendation. The only thing that got me was the prices for food in the cafe were a little steep, would much rather wait to get to the bottom than pay the prices for some items at the cafe at the top. The price may be a little steep, especially if traveling on a budget, but the views at the top make it well worth it! Make sure to explore the little area behind the gondola loading area at the top, more spectacular views are located behind here and can easily be missed.

We decided to do the gondola to Sulphur Mountain while visiting Banff in October. We had done this many years ago but my wife didn't see the trip up or down because she had her eyes closed. This time she enjoyed the trip, and loved the views. The gondola travels over the tops of the trees and at times you are suspended over areas that you can see the wildlife below. It was really cold at the top and there were snow blowing over the surrounding mountains. The views from the top are breathtaking and well worth the trip to the top.

We decided to take a trip to Banff for Valentines Day. We booked the Alpine lights dinner at the top of the Banff Gondola. I believe the price was somewhere between $110-$120 for two people. The gondola to the top had breathtaking views! However I could not have been more disappointed with the experience when we got to the top. We were sat in the corner with thee dirtiest windows I have ever seen. We could barely see the mountains (the reason we booked dinner up there was for the view)!! However, the food was mediocre, and the service wasn't too bad at all. It also did seem a little rushed because there was another dinner party coming in at 7 (our dinner was at 5:30). But the dirty windows took away from the entire experience. We were very disappointed ...

By far our favourite attraction that we did in Banff. Views were beautiful and the gondola was such a unique experience. The staff were fantastic and fun and worth every penny!
