Stayed two nights in a King Room, with a Great View of the Bow Falls. Clean, excellent service,
Staff wonderful, dressed immaculately. Food beyond good!...You don't have to leave the hotel, unless you want to venture down the short walk into Banff Town. There are wonderful shops, restaurants for everyone, swim pools hot tubs. And the best of the best...the SPA and the Mineral Spa pool. Treat yourself, Indulge..you won't regret anyo it.

Room Tip: Corner Suites are wonderful I don't think there would be a bad location at all.

Great historic building, good location.
Very well kept property, but extremely small rooms and even smaller bathrooms, for the price.
great spa facility, but unless you have treatments, there is a $49 cost per day to use the steam and hot tub. at these prices I think this is outrageous.

We appreciate your feedback. Thank you very much.

The Fairmont Banff Springs is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is over 125 years old. While we maintain the property in a manner that provides our guests with modern conveniences and luxury, in many cases we have not changed the size of guestrooms or bathrooms in the main building due to the original architecture.

We do have a wide selection of room types and can certainly offer options at time of booking for larger rooms in a variety of locations on the resort property.

The Fairmont Banff Springs is an icon and lives up to its reputation. The standard rooms are a bit small but the common building is very cool.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, even at the casual pub. The region is gorgeous and although a bit pricey for some things (like parking) I would really recommend staying there.

All staff members were helpful, friendly and professional. The fact there was no back up power during a power cut was a bit odd but made the stay more charming.

Fabulous location for a 2 night stay, very luxurious and not cheap. Booked deluxe rooms which were OK but not massive. Huge choice of restaurants (9) some of which have restricted opening days. Amazing views at the rear on the patio and pool levels. Beware of the biting insects in the woods if you visit Bow Falls or the German pub/ restaurant in the grounds. A 20 minute walk to the town centre which must have a main street with the most attractive views in the world. Hotel is similar to Gleneagles in Scotland but has nearly 800 rooms!

Room Tip: Virtually all rooms have fabulous views

I finally got to stay here and I enjoyed it immensely. We were with a tour group. One day I skipped the tour activities and I just enjoyed the outdoor 90 degree saline pool overlooking the mountains, the indoor 30+ meters pool and jacuzzi. Wonderfully relaxing! Guests who emerged from the Willow Stream spa, looked even more satisfied. The Hotel gives a discussion of the hotel's history on M1 level. We took a tour and got to see some of the fabulous ballrooms, ornate iron doors, and magnificent arched windows that look out on the view of the Bow River valley. It was built in 1888 and styled after a Scottish Baronial Castle. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The contractor actually built the hotel backwards initially-no cell phones or video to correct these matters in the early days. Guests would come by horse and buggy and stay for the season Take the steps down to the Waldhaus Pub or restaurant. Sit on the terrace and have a traditional cheese fondu and lager. Smell the alpine air. Walk further down and see the Bow River Falls. You might catch a van service back up the hill to the hotel too! There is the fabulous Rundle lounge with live music and dancing, if you feel inclined. Several dining options on the property or go into town and eat at the Bistro Cafe de Paris for fabulous French cuisine. Don't bi-pass the fast food options right off of the main lobby. Take a peak and grab some sparkling water, picnic supplies or midnight snacks. Fancy hotel shops are at your disposal. Golf course is amazing from what I hear and quite possibly you'll see some wildlife on the greens or sand traps. Head up the hill to the Sulphur Mountain Gondola to get an even better view of the Banff area. Just beyond the gondola, stop at Banff Upper Hot Springs for a great dip and view (I recommend this to anyone not staying at the Castle with access to their pools). Concierge at Banff Springs Hotel are top notch and helpful for just about anything. If you can't get a room with a view, don't cry, there are plenty of terraces for viewing. If you do get a room with a view, savor it for a lifetime. Warning: Be prepared to spend some effort exploring the nooks and crannies of this castle and orienting yourself. Go for ice cream just below the Bow Valley Terrace. There's so much to experience here whether you are staying or just visiting. A harpist plays in the lobby in Scottish attire. Class act!

Room Tip: Inquire about rooms with a view.
