I have always wanted to experience this beautiful property and the time was now right. My wife and I visited for one night and I only wish it could have been longer. The hotel stands up as a castle in the middle of a mountainous forest. Breathtaking.
The staff are all positive professionals, who told me that gratuities are not accepted by the majority of the staff as the hotel pays them a decent wage. First time I have heard that in Canada.
Our room was modern but ancient, in that it had all of the amenities but the rustic castle interior [612] blended in with the rest of the venue.
It is located within a National Park and is considered a tourist resort so expect it to be a tad pricey, but the experience is worthwhile. A 15 minute mountain walk to the townsite or a 10 minute walk to beautiful Bow falls.
Several on site restaurant to choose from and I would expect them all to be great, we flipped a coin between the Italian and Canadian Grill. The Canadian Grill won out and we were not disappointed. The view down the valley was stupendous and our server Jeff delightful. The meal was a treat and the wine fantastic. I tried the house cocktail "V G T" [ spelling?] - it was a nice start to the evening, followed by the Bison skewers to share.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the golf course side. Ours was not and if the window is open you may be above the...

A magical, wonderful place. If in Banff, stay here and enjoy this warm and elegant hotel. What a charming place, rooms are so comfortable and the smell of the surrounding forests and Bow River are WOW!

It was exciting simply to drive up to such a lovely special location in the gorgeous Canadian Rockies. They allow you to check in online so when you get there they give you the key, take your luggage and you are done. No dragging through the lobby and waiting. Our room was a small one but very comfortable. I think it's funny that we didn't have mountain view room because I guess we were on the wrong side of the hotel but there were indeed lovely mountains we could see out our window. The hotel is old and historic and it was fun looking at all the nooks and crannies of the lounges throughout the hotel. The cocktails in the lounge were expensive but huge, unusual and tasty. We were there in mid-June when there was still a chill at night. Imagine our amazement when we were outside and enjoying the late evening summer light and a waitress came by with blankets to wrap us in. The service here was friendly and warm without being obsequious. We really loved the feel of a more gracious era but the luxuries of the modern day. I highly recommend making the splurge to stay here. Only complaint is that the parking was expensive. That is one of my pet peeves but minor compared to the many wonderful things here.

Room Tip: We had an inexpensive room but still wonderful. I guess though that it was cool that we were in the...

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were incredibly accommodating. The room was nice but a little small, especially the bathroom. Other than the small room it was great. The Presidents' Club is the way to go. Little pricey but worth it.

Great hotel. The size of the place is a bit overwhelming but once you can find the elevator you are on your way to a great stay. Rooms are modern with all the amenities. I hate having to pay for wifi, especially at these prices. Many restaurants on site to choose from. All very pricey. Did I say that already? Short 20 minute walk to Banff.

This stay was much the same as previous stays, with a very friendly and beautiful experience. It doesn't hurt that this hotel is set in the most beautiful spot in the world, but it is a lot more than that with a very concerted effort by all of the staff to make you feel welcome and special. The bed in our room and the pillows gave us the best sleep that we have ever had. Truly an amazing experience.

Just spent 2 nights at The Banff Springs in a Stanley Thomson Mountain Suite. The room is extremely comfortable with a separate den with couch chair TV and fireplace and bedroom with a nice size bathroom with 2 sinks and tub/shower. The rooms are also quiet to get a good nights sleep. The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars was there were 2 lights in the den that weren't working correctly . I called and it took 45 min and 2 calls to get the lights fixed. The Grill had good food for breakfast and dinner The Rondell Room offered comfortable furniture and good drinks. The grounds are just beautiful and there is a path to Bow River Falls.

Room Tip: Room 1105 is on a lower floor making it more difficult to see the valley thru the trees, but was qui...
