Not quite the Delta hotel as in the larger cities...fairly subdued atmosphere.
Great location
Room had view of construction being performed beside hotel but this should be finished
Fairly plain

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in March. It was a perfect getaway from the city. The hotel is very nice and friendly - everyone made us feel welcome.

Breakfast at the hotel was great; we didnt eat there any other time of the day.

The hotel itself was about 10 min walk to the centre of town - a bit far to walk in the cold but it was nice and quiet being away from the action.

Nice touch was the valet cleaned our windscreen to "enjoy the beautiful scenery."

My husband and I stayed at the Banff Delta Royal Canadian for 2 nights in January. We especially appreciated that the entire hotel is smoke-free. Our room and the entire hotel was very clean and comfortable.

The staff were fantastic! Every time we walked past the desk in the lobby someone would say hello. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly.

We ate breakfast in the Evergreen restauarant and found the food quality to be very good. The steam room and pool very spotless and very enjoyable.

A new building is being built next door to the hotel, but the noise was minimal and we did not find this to be a problem.

We would love to stay at the Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge again.

We have just spent Christmas at the Delta Banff and it was fantastic. We stayed along with another couple and both of us loved it. As it was Christmas we booked a suite room with jacuzzi bath and fireplace. The room was very spacious and the housekeeping every day was brillliant, they couldn't do anough for you. Every morning our room was cleaned with little extras such as choclates laid on the bed and water - a nice touch we thought!

As you walk into the hotel you are greeted by a big log fire which makes the place feel even more inviting. The service we recieved from all the staff was fantastic, any questions were answered and they couldn't be more helpful.

The pool and whirlpool is lovely and cosy. I recommend the hot tub!

Our Christmas Day dinner was also amazing in the Evergreen Restaurant.

IWe will definately be staying here again. Its convenient to walk into town (5-10 minutes) and you are really made to feel welcome.

This hotel is centrally located in downtown Banff, a 10 minute walk to the shops and even closer to some restaurants. It is well priced , we had a standard room which was large, 2 sinks in the large bathroom with granite and bathrobes. The bedroom had 2 queen beds,a gas fireplace and a fridge.
The breakfast was good but service a bit slow (the fault of the kitchen).
This hotel needs a bar with bartenders! The standup bar in the dining room is all they have altho' there are bar stools. The only place to have a "relaxing" drink is in a few chairs in the lobby. The waiters bartend and some are not knowledgeable.
The staff are all friendly and professional, one doesn't always find this in a ski village such as Banff with transient employees.

We just returned from a lovely stay at the Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff. I can't recommend them more highly. The rooms are comfortable; the atmosphere is relaxing; but it's the staff that REALLY shines. Every member of the staff from housekeeping to diningroom staff; from Bellmen to front desk clerks have a ready smile and a very sincere greeting. However, even among these gracious people there are standouts. The front desk is more than adequately manned by Shawn MacMillan - GREAT sense of humor - and a wealth of info about the town. Concierge services are provided by Barret Sheeshka and Aaron Volkmann - What can I say? Superlative service! Restaurant suggestions were outstanding, day trip ideas were right on the money. No question that these guys are the best. Thanks Shawn, Barret and Aaron!

Tips: Just a note of caution: The hotel is in the middle of Banff National Park, and as such, you will have to pay an admittance fee. In our case, it was over $100CAD (The price for an annual park pass)

Try to visit the Balkan Restaurant on a Tuesday night - It's Greek night - Belly dancers, Greek dancing and breaking plates! Great Fun! Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. (Reservations STRONGLY advised)

Another fun restaurant: Grizzly House! Fondue with a difference - Elk, Bison, Ostrich, Boar, etc. (They also have typical fare Beef & Chicken)

If you're there on a weekend, go to the St. James Pub - live Celtic music. Good food, good company.

All in all, a great Trip!

We were in Canada for our friends wedding in Calgary,so as part of our trip we decided to explore The Rockies,on the recommendation from Trip Adviser we stayed at the Canadian Lodge Banff and were not dissapointed. The hotel was in an excellent location and to a very high standard, from the helpful concierge-who gave us a list of the best places to visit and how to get there-to the superb restaurant and spotlessly clean rooms you couldn't fault anything. They even cleaned the windscreen of the car in the garage. Thanks for a great recommendation.
