We have booked this hotel several years for a conference and can't recommend it for prices charged. It seems that they take business for granted because we had a multiyear contract. Reception was average and got several things wrong - they were eventually corrected. Rooms are spacious but lighting dim. Main complaint was our banquet dinner - very institutional with no flare at all. Prime rib all well done plus several were over one third solid fat - not gristle just fat, roast potatoes very undercooked and pastry on dessert like cardboard. I will say breakfast and luncheons were very good but our event of the conference was spoiled by a very poor dinner. Bar choice of drinks and wine was also very limited

This is our go-to property in Banff. The prices are reasonable and the rooms clean. We love the Jacuzzi room! It's close to the downtown, only a short walk. The pool area has many children during the day, but later in the evening is pretty empty - and you MUST have a session in the eucalyptus steam room!

The Terrace Lounge is great for getting a drink a relaxing. The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable. I just ask him to surprise me with a cocktail and he usually comes up with something delicious.

The Terrace Restaurant is pricey, but worth it. The lamb is excellent, as is the steak.

The Chinook Restaurant upstairs is your basic breakfast buffet. We usually hit it up because it's convenient.

Room Tip: Get a jacuzzi room!

Stayed one night (a Saturday) in October 2013. Room on 3rd floor was large, clean, and very nice. Compared to other hotel options in 'off season' (you wouldn't know it based on how full and busy the hotel was) the price and amenities made for a very good deal. The parking and internet are extra, so be aware. Also, the number of parking spots in heated indoor garage seems to be less than the number of parking passes they hand out at front desk so if you arrive late there might not be room in the inn...

Overall, the hotel was good and location perfect. The room, while dated, was clean and the amenities such as the pool area was great (although busy). The downside is that they charge for things many hotels offer for free (parking, wifi, etc) and the restaurant/lounge are nothing spectacular. I would go here again, for the right price, but would definitely keep in mind how much it costs in total (parking, etc) when shopping around.

The location is perfect: one block off of Banff Avenue so that the surrounding area is quiet and easy to drive to (no traffic hassles or pedestrian hassles like staying on Banff Avenue). Within a block is Tim Horton's, Melissa Missteak (breakfast) and Nesters (grocery store).

There are additional charges for things like WiFi and parking (underground), so keep that in mind when shopping around for rates. The lounge and restaurants within the hotel are on the expensive side and the service was just average. We had the Sunday brunch, and while good, it does not compare to the Banff Springs brunch.

The pool area is great - a jacuzzi, a plunge pool (slightly cooler than jacuzzi, no jets), swimming pool and steam room. There are lockers available to store your belongings and children are not allowed after 9:00pm. For some reason, the jets in the jacuzzi can be turned off in the middle of their 10 minute cycle and a time period must pass before they are reactivated (we went at 9:00pm and they were off, the front desk said it takes 20 minutes to come back on). I'm not sure if this is from someone hitting the emergency stop button or not. Keep in mind the pool area does fill up quickly, even after 9:00pm, as it does seem like a popular spot.

The basic rooms are dated (the suites looked more modern from the glimpses we saw) but clean. There are large flat screen TVs in the rooms, but those are the only modern updates. The rooms are rather large, even the ones with two queen beds. The beds were very comfortable and they offer a selection of pillow types to choose from. Be careful if you get a room on the main passageway, noise travels easily and you'll hear the people in the hallway.

Room Tip: Pick a room that is not on a main passageway - they are noisy.

We were here with a tour group for 3 nights and it was our "home base" for seeing the incredible sights around Banff - Lake Louise, the view from the top of Sulphur Mountain via the gondola, Moraine Lake. It is an easy walk from the Lodge to the shops and things to do in town. The facilities were just what we needed. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good, We also enjoyed a glass of wine and appetizers in front of the fireplace in the bar area. When we return on our own, we will stay here.

We stayed for a family weekend in a double queen room. Room was spacious with no view (as expected for $100 in Banff). Pool area was awesome and the highlight of our trip according to mu 4-years-old son. We didn't try the restaurants. The only complaint would be the little fees for everything (parking fee, wifi fee, phone call fee, e-mail fee, room service fee etc.). Luckily we didn't need any or those for one night.

Stayed as a part of a Trafalgar Tour and were very happy with their choice of Hotel.
Well located and provided great facilities. The room was tidy and had a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. To our surprise we met a young man working there who was from Perth, Australia. Small world. However, every where shopped in Banff we came across young Aussies working.

Room Tip: Outside rooms would be preferable.
