We stayed here in the last week of August, with two teenagers. We had one of the Mountain Cabins, which was perfect for our needs -- Queen bed with separate room, loft with two beds for the kids, small but functional kitchen, porch with view to wooded area, common area pool -- what more could you need?
Service was very helpful, any questions on issues and they helped out right away.
Yes, it would be a bit of a walk into the downtown area (we had a car, but there is a free bus service right outside), and yes, it was a bit pricey...but perfect for our needs.
Thanks for a great stay Tunnel Mountain!

I had booked a studio and was very kindly upgraded to one of the amazing split level condos - so am very grateful to the resort for this, esp for extra space and a nice place to be on a day i was unwell. Overall, very clean, fantastically comfortable beds, while very small the kitchen had everything needed (inc dishwasher!), staff lovely. View was nice (of trees at back, but also of power lines). Another bonus was you had a couple of hikes in walking distance. My only downside, which unfortunately is important to me, was that sound carried very easily between next door and below apartments, esp slamming doors and conversations at ALL hours, and children (i assume) jumping from beds and running up and down stairs very late at night. If you are a light sleeper, or trying to get up early for a big hike or flight, its exhausting. Maybe the studio would have been better for me, but would chat with them first if youhave "sleep needs" like myself.

We loved our stay at Tunnel Mountain resort - on our tour of Canada that included better starred hotels, AirBNB’s etc, our kids aged 14 and 12 declared this their favourite place that we stayed in. The hotel is a little away from the town centre of Banff which for us was a bonus as we found the town too busy and crowded particularly at the weekend. There is no need to have a car to stay here and we didn’t have one. The hotel provides a free bus pass for the duration of your stay which can be used on lots of local bus services to visit many sites such as the Banff Gondola and Hot Springs, Lake Minnewanka, Lake Louise etc. Tour buses will also pick you and drop you at the hotel. The walk into town is also lovely and only about 15 mins walk. The design of the accommodation was perfect for us, with two double beds upstairs for the kids and the lounge, kitchen and bedroom downstairs for us giving everyone plenty of space to relax after a day travelling. The area is absolutely stunning and really one of the most beautiful we’ve ever been to. Recommend.

We picked this hotel because it is just 1km away from Banff city centre which gave us the opportunity to park our car without any problem. Hotel gives also voucher to catch a bus that runs towards city centre and back. We arrived at 12:00 although check in time was at 16:00 and the hotel staff made us possible to check in and I believe they did even upgrade in a much bigger room. The room was very cozy and clean with a special chalet look. Very well recommended!

We loved our week at the Tunnel Mountain Resort. We booked through VRBO and got a really good rate. The studio was small but worked well for us. It had everything we needed. The staff we encountered were very helpful and welcoming. We didn't spend a lot of time int he room because why would you when you have Banff National Park right outside your door. The lodge is up the hill from Banff so away for the busyness but close enough to walk into town. We would definitely stay here again and again.
