Bring your own pillow and featherbed if you have one or you may have problems sleeping on these beds...our room actually stank like smoke and we were unable to get another room as it was fully booked so make sure you get a non-smoking room if smells bother you.
The kitchenette is great and they have a good sized fridge to accomodate you for a few days. I loved the proximity to the Douglas Fir Resort with the waterslide but thought that for the $45 savings (admission to slides) that we will stay there next time.
The Buffalo Mountain Lodge across the street has a fantastic dining room that allowed us to book a reservation the same night and we had a delicious gormet dinner. The atmosphere is really nice so leave the kids at the waterslides if you can!

My husband I spent a night here in early November, in the off season. We live about an hours drive away, and booked a room on a whim a couple of days beforehand. Banff is quieter around this time as the ski season has not quite started. You are also often rewarded with off season rates, as was the case with Tunnel Mountain Resort.

We booked a room directly from their website and stayed in one of the executive suites. We were very impressed by the room. The room has a gas fireplace, black leather sofa, king size bed, jacuzzi tub, steam shower, heated ceramic tiles in the bathroom, fridge, microwave, desk, TV/VCR, and patio.

It looks as if the executive suites have been redone in the last couple of years. The hotel looks like it was probably built in the late 70's early 80's. I cannot comment on any other room type, as to whether or not the rooms have been updated, except to say judging by their website not all have been. You can view virtual tours of all of their rooms on their website.

We did notice a pool right next to the reception desk, but did not use it, as we headed up to the Hot Springs, about a 10 minutes drive away. A treat not to be missed, especially on a chilly star filled night, as the Hot Springs Pool is outdoors.

We would highly recommend a stay in one of the executive suites, if you want a nice romantic night/weekend away. This type of room only sleeps 2, so leave the kids at home with eager grandparents. ; )

We just returned from a ten day trip to the okanogan with a two night stay in Banff which was the highlight of our trip. Tunnel Mountain Resort was everything we were told it would be. The rooms were great and the service was excellent. The bathrooms with the jacuzzi tub and steam bath were the best part. It was hard to leave the room to see the sights .

We stayed for two nights in one of the Executive Suites. The room was okay, but nothing special. It was clean upon arrival, but I don't think housekeeping even emptied the waste baskets after our first night there. Did not use a corner sheet on the bed, thus it was frequently being pulled free during the night. Parking is tight as the units are very close together. Staff was friendly and efficient at front desk. Bathroom was small, but had a nice shower and tub. There was just nothing special about the place and we would not be inclined to return.

This hotel did not meet our expectations, the traffic from the road beside it was quite loud, the housekeeping was substandard and the accommodations were of poor quality.

We stayed in an Executive suite. We had requested a smoking room (my husband) but the Executive suites are all NS, but he was allowed to smoke on the balcony, which worked out just fine. ( By the way, if you do smoke in a non-smoking room you are charged an extra $250 for special cleaning needed).
The room was very well equiped, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, very comfy bed. Bathroom had separate tub and shower. Very clean and well maintained.
The biggest thrill to me was watching deer from our balcony.!

We stayed first week of July 2006 in an executive suite. It's one of the best rooms we've ever had. No need to describe it, since someone else already did. The only complaint my husband had was that the bed was too soft. To me it's perfect (we have a sleep number bed at home).
