I stayed for a weekend escape with my with this month and was very impressed. For a place to crash and recharge after a day of "Banffing" or skiing, this it very nice. The space is adequate (though the power plugs in the room we were in were lose), and the kitchenette is great. Across the road there are a few small shops where you can get some sundries and if you want to walk "into town", it's only about 10-15 from your front door to the heart of Banff Ave. So while they call themselves a resort (they have a pool and bbqs available), the amenities are the town itself.

My wife & I stayed at Tunnel Mountain Resort after trying another location nearby. This was far above our first stop! Clean rooms, heated by thermostat-controlled fireplace, steam shower, balcony with nice view, and close to town without being "in the middle of it." I have recommended this place to friends headed that way. You will enjoy the choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the road. It offers a view of the mountains beyond.

I stayed at the Tunnel Mountain Resort May 26-June 1 of this year. The resort was fairly quiet and the view from the mountains (from the balcony) was amazing. The one bedroom with loft and kitchen was perfect for our stay. Accomodations are not luxurious, but comfortable, clean and the staff is quick to respond to requests. We took advantage of using the pool and hot tub during the stay, but didn't get around to using the fitness room, sauna or steam room. The wifi signal was convenient even though I didn't spend a lot of time online. The kitchen is furnished with dishes, flatware, coffee, salt and pepper. There is a small grocery across the street, but the Safeway in Banff is not far either. One night we were treated to deer visiting at the back balcony. I would recommend Tunnel Mountain Resort to anyone who wants to stay closer to nature than a hotel in town, but isn't quite up to roughing it.

Stayed here while skiing in April. Accommodation clean, comfortable and very reasonable. Didn't have any baking trays/oven dishes, but within 5 minutes of ringing reception someone was at the door with a foil dish. Likewise the next day when we rang regarding a problem with one of the beds in the loft bedroom, and a missing bulb in a bedside lamp, someone arrived within minutes to sort out the problem. We were visited twice by deer in the trees behind the chalet, its a pity some people don't read the info carefully - they were throwing food out to the deer. Pool small but warm and pleasant to swim in. Jacuzzi by pool out of action the day I swam.
From the outside the accommodation looks a bit tired and "concrete block-y" but inside it is comfortable and welcoming. We were in a loft chalet, varying between 3 and 5 of us staying. There are only 4 chairs round the table, and one couch which seats 3 comfortably, 4 at a squeeze. It would be a bit cramped if the allowed max of 8 were staying. Otherwise great.

Room Tip: Loft chalet great, beds and sofa bed all comfy and roomy, but living accommodation a bit cramped for...

We just had a fantastic time at the Tunnel Mountain Resort. Our room had one bedroom, kitchenette and livingroom with fireplace and hide-a-bed. The floors were warm in the room, we were in the hot tub by 8am and then again by 8pm.

We absolutely loved this resort. Banff was amazing and we wished we had more time there. Our room was out of this world. For $90/night we had a steam shower and jet tub in our room, fireplace, king size bed, couch, bar fridge. The site has a 30 person hot tub as well as a smaller one and a pool. Loved the balcony in our room and access to BBQ. The resort was away from the town centre and tranquil in the mountain with the wildlife.

I have stayed in Tunnel Mountain Resort a couple of times and I really enjoyed every stay. The staff are accommodating, the rooms are clean and well taken care of. Facilities were awesome- heated indoor pool , sauna, gym, hot tub... The view from the chalet patio were amazing, seeing nature at its best. Service daily by the housekeepers, replenishing amenities and toiletries, bed were made daily. Kitchenettes contain utilities from plates to cook wares, you can do barbecue in their barbecue area with tables for everyone to use. To the management and staff, continue the good service.
