This is a very good hotel within 5-10 minutes walk of the shops/restaurants in Banff. The room was big, clean and with a very comfortable bed and pillows and with lovely views. As it was not very hot when I was there, the lack of air conditioning was not an obvious problem. A bigger problem was that the wi-fi in the room was not good, and whilst better in reception still not very good. All things considered, location, room, staff, breakfast, had no problems with this hotel at all, apart from the wi-fi. Would stay again.

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel. While we had a pleasant stay, I wouldn't describe it as anything above average. The location is great - walkable to downtown Banff. There is free parking, which is convenient. There's a hip little coffeeshop inside the hotel. Our room also came with free breakfast, which was pretty standard continental breakfast with table service.

Our room was fine. We were upgraded to a premium room, which was spacious. There was no A/C, which I guess is not normally needed, but we were in Banff on some hot days and the fan they had in the room wasn't cutting it. Also, the hotel's free wifi did not work in our room, which was super inconvenient because we were traveling from outside of Canada and did not have cell service.

This is a perfectly fine hotel. I might stay here again if it was well priced and there weren't better options.

Room tip: Ask for a room within wifi range if you need it.

Excellent accommodation for a 3 star hotel. Friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was much bigger than we expected. The bathroom was spacious and spotless and the bed was large and really comfortable. We had a balcony over looking the main street and the views of the mountains were incredible. Noise from the main street and traffic was minimal. Breakfast was served by really friendly staff and was at a standard we have had in some 4 star hotels we have stayed in. We also made use of the sauna and hot tub which were included in the price. This hotel was hard to fault and we would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant, tasteful, contemporary hotel within easy walk of all the restaurants and shops in downtown Banff. It's located right among other in-town hotels such as the western style Moose Hotel next door and bigger Banff International nearby, and has free parking (some covered). Our premium twin room (only type available due to our last-minute booking) was really spacious and came with a separate sitting room (couch, chair, table, coffee table, tv console) and balcony as well as a separate bath area with two washbasins opposite each other. Pretty glycerine soaps, plush towels, robes, nice amenities, in-room coffee and fridge. Only negative: No A/C! It was hot during our stay.
Complementary breakfast each morning was way above average. Small pool and separate jacuzzi are available on the second level. There are cute book nooks on second and third floors plus a sitting room with computer on lobby level, and laundry room on the bottom floor. Popular premium coffee shop connects to the lobby. Checkin/out was smooth and staff members were friendly. We were so comfortable here that we stayed an extra night!

First time visit to the city of Banff. Scenery is spectacular but our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge was anything but. The rooms are dirty, dusty and there is NO AIR CONDITIONING...There are very few electric plugs to charge your electronic devices and bellhop trolley barely fits into the elevator - very annoying when bringing up bags with the family - without mentioning it was very confusing to find our room. Our experience so far does not reflect the daily rate we are being charged. I will not stay in this (m)hotel again - avoid the Banff Aspen Lodge.
