We stayed for 2 nights while in Banff.

The hotel is in a great location - less than 5mins walk to the shops and restaurants of Banff.

Staff were extremely welcoming when we checked in - even mentioning that there was a large group staying and were expected at breakfast between 7-8am so we may need to wait if going at that time. All staff we encountered during our stay were extremely friendly and helpful.

Room was great, decent size with large TV, free wifi, coffee/tea making machine and a safe.

They have 2 hot-tubs on the ground floor - we used these one night and they were great - one has a log effect fire next to it.

Breakfast was included. This was decent and as expected for a free breakfast (several cereals, bread and toasters and some cold meats/cheese). They serve home made granola which was lovely!

Didn't find the car park as issue as some reviewers have mentioned - but perhaps that was helped by the fact that a lot of people staying there had come in a coach.

The only slight downside to our stay was the fact that there is only 1 washing/drying machine and it has limited hours so we couldn't do a wash while we were there. Didn't matter in the end as we did this at our next hotel.

Overall great place to stay if on Banff.

This lodge is well located on the main road going into downtown Banff, yet not quite in the thick of things to make it unpleasant. We spent one night here in late Sept. the weather was not too good but the room was nice. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice with a good bed and a nicely lied out room. The room was clean and well appointed with everything working. There are two negatives I will mention. The included breakfast was not a relaxing welcoming experience. The room was perhaps not big enough for the guest and so the tables were set up poorly. There was no coffee/tea bar you had to wait for an overworked wait person to pour you a cup and they didn't come around but once. The food spread was typical free breakfast fare which we have come to expect when breakfast is included, but the atmosphere was rather rushed. The other negative was the laundry facility advertised for guests was just one washing machine and dryer with limited hours of access, really how dumb is that.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge. I apologize that you didn’t have a good experience in our Breakfast Room; I have passed your comments onto our Breakfast Room Manager so that he can review with his team. Our laundry facilities are open from 9am – 9pm daily to abide by the hotel’s quiet hours so other guests are not disturbed.
I am happy that you enjoyed your guestroom, the hotel’s central location and our Front Desk Staff.
Sincerely,
Christy – Business Development Manager

We really liked this hotel. It's small and it's location on the busy main road meant that our room was noisy.

But the room was big, the beds were comfortable, great shower and plenty of toiletries and towels. No A/C but large fan provided. Safe in room for valuables. Free WiFi.

The buffet, contintental breakfast was very enjoyable with hot drinks, juice, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, breads, pastries and toast and jams.

The hotel staff were charming and very helpful. When our tour party arrived we were offered lemonade and cookies and, when departing, we were offered apples for our journey. A lovely touch.

Our favourite hotel from the 7 we stayed at in Canada.

We checked in to this accomodation for one night. Receptionist welcomed us and gave us some great ideas on what to do in Banff. Great hot pool and spa to relax. Nice bedroom and good continental breakfast included. Decided to stay another night, very helpful in giving us same room.
Fully recommend this accomodation. Thank you.

Room Tip: There are economy queen rooms ground floor off the pool area. We chose 1st floor at the rear of the building, very quiet. Great free under parking free. Excellent place to stay.

We are booked for 3 nights. On arrival we found that we had to go up 3 floors then hike along an outside balcony to get to our room. Reception staff did not mention this. Finally found the room and the key card didn't work so had to traipse all the way back to recetption. Tea bags provided in the room and a kettle but no milk. On asking reception we were firmly told that we had to use the coffee whitener powder as milk was only available at breakfast. Laundry does not open until 9am - we don't want to waste half the day waiting for washing! Not impressed. Also Internet access is ridiculously slow and can't handle video to make a FaceTime call.

Thank you for your feedback. The hotel has signs posted on each floor to direct guests to their guestroom, as well a map of the hotel is provided on the back of our Key Card Package with specific room location details. Unfortunately Canada does not have UHF milk so we are unable to keep ‘real’ milk in our guestrooms. We should keep some at our Front Desk though and this is a great suggestion; thank you! I will speak with our Front Office Manager to get this organized. Our Laundry Room is open from 9am – 9pm daily; we do not open it earlier so that other guests staying in rooms near-by are not disturbed.
I hope you enjoyed your time in Banff National Park~
Sincerely,
Christy – Business Development Manager
