We have recently spent two days at Rimrock Hotel Banff. The hotel location is fantastic, but we had three ordinary dining experiences. We began at Larkspur for lunch . The morrocan chicken wraps were dry and uninspiring. Dinner at the renowned Eden restaurant was a laborious affair with entrees (main course) being served at 10 pm with a 7.30pm booking. The pheasant was tough but lamb and beef were good. The servings were minute but delicate. After paying $150 for two course with matching wine, I felt hungry after the event.
All was redeemed with the concierge , Jenny Botha, working above and beyond. I was trying to buy tickets to Calgary stampede. There were difficulties, jenny spent two hours assisting me.
Donna at reception was also above average.
My final hour was spent gazing longingly at a family of elks across the road.More
