We had debated which hotel to stay in in Banff...village location or out of town...thank goodness we chose the Rimrock. From the moment we arrived we were well catered for...all the staff from reception to housekeeping were first class and a credit to the hotel. We upgraded to a mountain view room...views down the valley and of the gondola fantastic. Like all top notch hotels there was an expensive restaurant $Can 200/per!!! but we were able to eat well at a reasonable cost (breakfast and dinner). The bar area was good place to spend an hour at the end of a busy day enjoying a cocktail. The small "deli" was very good for snacks, coffees, magazines etc and was open early morning to late evening. The pool area was lovely to relax in...plenty of towels available. The hotel was a five minute walk from the gondola...a definite must, and the hot springs..a definite miss!! Would love to return if we ever get back to Canada.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 days.
The room was very clean and we had a wonderful view of the Mountain. When we arrived it warm and sunny but by the time we left there was snow on the mountains.
I played a game of golf at the Banff Spring golf course beautiful course then went up the gondola to the top of the mountain the view was out of this world.
Next day went for the float boat ride (this is not a boat but a large raft) but the ride was fun and very safe. Then went to the village of Banff for lunch this was fun.
We also got to go to a BBQ at a ranch this was lots of fun the meal. We got a cowboy hat from IPC who paid for our night.
The next day we had the chance to meet Chris Hatfiled WOW what a great speaker and a real Canadian Hero we also had our picture taken with him.
Banff is a great with lots to see and do.
I would stay at this hotel again if I was to go back.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a view of the mountain.

from the moment we entered the rimrock until the day we left,it was an experience.the service excellent many thanks to angela on reception .we had a wee blip re our anniversary request table but!! it was dealt with professionally, quickly and with no arguement. the staff in the primrose resteraunt couldnt do enough for us. much appreciated guys.(nice anniversary wish decorated on a delicate dessert)
the eden resteraunt .very very expensive .a set menu and although im sure is amazing food ,not many ate there (? price or time of year). the bar with a large fire place and big windows and open balconly over looking the mountains was beautiful nice atmosphere.the cocktails a must!! sadly the diva bar and entertainment only open frid and sat and i felt this let the hotel down. piano in corner of bar never played either so bit quiet at night..needed something.
rooms... we had up grade to deluxe with terrace big .but on 4th level just looking in to tree tops. diff would want level 7 and 8and on the left side of hotel.next time as i will diff stay here again.
free bus from hotel to town excellent. junp on and off were ever.
parking, the price of rimrock is closer to expensive than reasonable so paying for parking seemed a bit much .stayed around the world in more expensive and less expensive and not! paid for parking.($16 per day)
breakfast buffet was good but we only ate once her as it was easier to get ready and out early so we ate in town few times
location. a bit out of the town but right besdie the gondula(a must) and the hot spas.2 min walk from hotel and very enjoyable. after miles of hiking.

Room Tip: higher floor than 4th. rooms to left of hotel enterance.(which is at level 7.)

We stayed at the Rimrock hotel for two nights following our Rocky Mountaineer Train ride from Vancouver. Our room was lovely, clean and our view was excellent. It is our preference, when we travel, to stay at lodge style hotels but we chose the Rimrock because it was a short drive from the train and not in the actual town of Banff. Parking provisions were very good and the hotel staff were extremely helpful. The Banff Gondola was a short walk from the hotel and one of our favorite attractions while in Banff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. It will cost a bit more but it will make your stay at the Rimrock more e...

This was probably the "fanciest" hotel I've ever stayed at. We were only able to afford it because the rooms were on sale and we used some credit card points. We stayed in a premium guest room which is a little fancier than standard, higher up the building so the trees don't block the view. The best part was the location. It's quite far from the hustle and bustle down town, right across the road from the hot springs and just a little further is the sulphur mountain gondola. They had great people behind the concierge desk who helped us with all of our little tourist questions like are there towels at the hot springs, etc. and they had complimentary bus passes to get to town. The only thing I was really disappointed about was the bathrooms. Ours looked like it was whatever was on sale at the building centre. I was hoping for a nice luxurious soak in a comfortable tub, or a great shower head or something, but it was actually about as nice as my (cheap and in need of updating) tub at home. Oh well, there's always the hot springs, right? It was a nice experience, but I don't think I'd spend the money on a place that makes you pay extra for everything including parking, while the rooms are only fairly standard hotel fare (I've actually stayed in nicer for cheaper). The only real perk this place has is the bus passes, but you could probably stay somewhere else and just buy bus fare for cheaper.

Room Tip: Non-standard rooms are higher so you don't have the towering conifers blocking your amazing view...

It was very very expensive for what we had. The bathroom in our room was very old and we had no pressure in the shower. We did not have a view from our room (300$/night). But the shuttle service to Banff was very convenient and appreciated!!

Thank you for sharing your experience after your recent trip. It is disappointing to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience in regards to the washroom not meeting your expectations, and also for the view from your room not being what you would have liked. We pride ourselves on our location being the side of Sulpher Mountain ~ and to celebrate this, we offer a blend of unique room categories, all focued on view. Our Standard guestrooms are complete with obstructed views of parts of the building and trees, our Premium guest rooms are complete with unobstructed views of teh surronding mountains, and our Grandview guest rooms are complete with immaculate views of the valleys and the mountains surrounding us.

We hope you will return, and try one of our Grandview guest rooms out. We look forward to your next stay.

Well appointed rooms overlooking the gorgeous Canadian Rockies. Expensive hotel but worth every dollar! Restaurants and bar on the premises. Great breakfast buffet. Concierge available to help you with travel plans. Hotel will give you free passes to a shuttle that will take you into town. Good service also provided. We were called soon after we checked in and asked if the room was ok. Later, when we had difficulty turning on the faucet in the shower, we called the front desk and a handyman was sent. (The faucet seemed locked and we were afraid to exert too much pressure.) Hotel close to gondola and hot springs.

Room Tip: I would guess all of the rooms have great views of the mountains.
