Rimrock Resort Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

We had a beautiful stay at the Rimrock. Our room faced the mountains and was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The concierge, front desk and guest services were stellar. You can walk from here to the hot springs, sulfur mountain Gondola, Bow Falls and downtown Banff. There is also a complimentary bus. We did both. The location is perfect - far enough from downtown to enjoy the serenity of the mountains and close enough to take advantage of all Banff has to offer. We rented a car in order to visit Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Johnston Falls, and other unforgettably beautiful attractions. We also took a day trip with Discover Banff, arranged by the concierge. Scott and Jessica at the concierge desk were extremely knowledgeable, friendy and helpful.

The hotel restaurants were very nice, with beautiful views of Mt. Rundle. The pool and hot tub were a treat after a hot day of hiking. This hotel offered everything we could ask for and we had a great stay. Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Avoid a room above the pool.

We stayed here for one night as part of a Rocky Mountaineer Train tour. On arrival, reception was courteous and efficient and our room was large and luxurious with all the gadgets and with a great view down the valley. A light dinner and drink in the lounge was delightful and the service was very good as was breakfast in the Primrose room next morning. This hotel oozes sophistication and luxury, staying there was a great experience, we hope to return for longer next time.

Room Tip: Any room with a view.

We came out from Calgary for 3 nights to celebrate a milestone birthday for my wife. We had great service and good food and grog in the Primrose and Eden restaurants and in the lounge. All have great views of the mountains. My wife had a great massage, and manicure in the spa. The concierge found her a place in town to get a shampoo and blow dry, and made the reservation. Overall a great experience that she is still raving about.

We look forward to getting back to the Rimrock when we want another mountain luxury resort experience.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the inner courtyard (northeast) are very quiet and have great views !! Room 477 h...

We stayed in a deluxe room with mountain views. I can't recommend the Rimrock more highly. The room was large and comfortable, the view from our window was unforgettable, and the service was not only helpful but genuinely friendly. While the room was expensive ($300+ per night), it was a bargain compared to the prices at the Banff Springs.
The hotel is located a few kilometres (about 4, I believe) from downdown Banff. Although we did not have a car, this did not pose much of a problem. It's a pleasant 40 minute walk, and buses run between the Inn and downtown - the hotel gives you a free bus pass. It is also located across the street from the hot springs, which is convenient.
We went to Eden restaurant for dinner, which lived up to its considerable reputation. One of the best meals I have ever had.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view are worth the extra money

Between the breathtaking view, the super-friendly and helpful staff, the excellent restaurants, and the great condition of the place, it made for a perfect experience on our honeymoon. As a wedding gift, we were upgraded to a suite which included free valet parking and 15% off of food at the hotel. Our suite had a two-queen bedroom and an attached parlour with a pull-out couch, its own door and bathroom. Way more than the two of us needed, but it would be great for a family or a group of friends. Everything in the room was nice, though the temp control was confusing. Bathtubs had jacuzzi jets, and there was a slower complimentary wifi or a premium wifi.

In terms of amenities, we visited the pool and hot tub. There were about three families with kids there at the same time as us, but everything was fairly large and there was lots of space. The sauna was nice, but the steam room was a bit disappointing because it didn't get very steamy.

We ate lunch at Larkspur and took advantage of the sandwich deal which was very good quality and price considering you get a soup or fries, a sandwich, and a beer. We also had the breakfast buffet which was very good variety and quality. The hotel is not right in the city but we got a complimentary three-day bus pass which made it very easy to get around. Once you're in town, everything is walkable.

Would definitely return.

Room Tip: A stunning view if you get a room facing away from the road.

Sadly, had only one night to enjoy this beautiful property-you definitely need AT LEAST two!!
I brought a friend of mine who had never been to Alberta much less seen the mountains and she was awestruck.
From check-in to check out, the staff are attentive and will go out of their way to answer any queries and provide suggestions and every guest was treated with the same attention to detail.
The dining room is wonderful, the rooms are fabulous-this is a must stay!!!!!

We stayed here July 21-24, 2013 with our son and new bride. They were married in a small ceremony in Norquay Meadow and we had their dinner at the Primrose after the ceremony! Everything from the check-in until check-out was flawless! Our rooms and dinning experience were fantastic. Our Concierge Jeff was Fabulous! He had lots of info and helped with every little request we had! Thanks for a Great stay!
