To get to Sunshine Mountain lodge you ride a gondola for 20 minutes and i wasnt sure how i would feel about being "isolated". In fact it was a wonderful experience. The lodge is very comfortable and has lots of amemities, the hot tub was very welcome at the end of a long day hiking, the food in the restaurants was very good ( we ate in Chimney Corner and the Mad Trappers pub) the staff was all very friendly and accomadating but the star of the show has to be the trails. At the time we were there a lot of the wildflowers were in bloom and Sunshine meadows were beautiful. We hiked all of the different trails over 3 days. One day we went into Banff and i found myself longing to get back to the tranquility of Sunshine Mountain Lodge. I would highly recomend it and would love to get back there again some day.
