Had a good stay. Food was a little below standard. No bacon on deluxe hamburgers (supper) and a hair in the scrambled eggs. ( no response from management). Buffet was a good price. Supper a little steep.

When I booked, I was told the room would be a corner room with unobstructed views of the mountains. The room I received was at the opposite end of the hotel and overlooked the pool. They were unable to change my room as the corner room was already occupied.

To get to Sunshine Mountain lodge you ride a gondola for 20 minutes and i wasnt sure how i would feel about being "isolated". In fact it was a wonderful experience. The lodge is very comfortable and has lots of amemities, the hot tub was very welcome at the end of a long day hiking, the food in the restaurants was very good ( we ate in Chimney Corner and the Mad Trappers pub) the staff was all very friendly and accomadating but the star of the show has to be the trails. At the time we were there a lot of the wildflowers were in bloom and Sunshine meadows were beautiful. We hiked all of the different trails over 3 days. One day we went into Banff and i found myself longing to get back to the tranquility of Sunshine Mountain Lodge. I would highly recomend it and would love to get back there again some day.

We had a magical 4 night stay here in July 2019. Fantastic hotel with Greta rooms and super comfy beds. All staff are extremely friendly! Eagles Nest and hot tub are a must, as is the breakfast buffet for $21. Also make sure you walk around Grizzly Lake and Larynx Lake - the most spectacular views from both! The 20 minute cable car ride up from carpark to the hotel is magical and makes you really switch off and enjoy the holiday. Free WiFi everywhere is great too! Thanks Sunshine x
