My family from Portugal, my two pet Bichons and myself decided this October 2011 to take a short break in the Rocky Mountains! And so we took off for Banff. With no advance booking we decided to take our chances and visit the Mount Royal Hotel in Banff. It looks like a building and the entrance was a little dificult to find considering that I now have limited eyesight! The entrance was through a sign that said Tony Roma's. There was plenty of free hotel parking behind the building. Two pet friendly rooms were available! And so we viewed two and booked the one that a view of the main street and the mountains. The rooms and the washrooms were clean and worth the price and had a decent view. TV and cable was there too so you could relax before hitting the sack! Being October the it was cold outside but the room temperature was a little stuffy. We had to open the windows to let in some cool air. The corridors even on a weekday were a little too noisy for my liking! There was some maintenance work going on and people passing by made a lot of noise! The hotel does have a hot tub facility! Good hotel though and the stay was comfortable. It has a Tony Roma access from within the facility.
