“Good stay”
Reviewed January 20, 2008

My husband and I have just stayed at the Cedar Court this past weekend for our skiing trip. The hotel is nicely situated, a short 10 minute walk into town. Staff were friendly and pleasant. We stayed in a Loft Suite which was a nice room. It was nice to have the two levels split giving the feeling of more space. There were two things that really let the room down however. Our front door which lead directly outside was very drafty and there appeared to be a small gap between the bottom of the door which let the cold minue 20 air in! Our main issue was sleeping upstairs in the bedroom, it was like a sauna and very uncomfortable to sleep at night. Even with the noisy ceiling fan on it was at times unbearable.
Apart from these issues the room was immaculate and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to people.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for about 4 nights. I found the hotel through it's website and booked the loft style room for about $200+ a night. I understood that Banff is pricey especially in the summer but I did have high hopes for the room. When we arrived I was not too happy with the room. The decor is a little dated, the walls are plain white, and the bathroom was very awkward. I found the room to be a little depressing. The layout of the loft was cool though, although the steep spiral staircase would not be suitable for the elderly or people who have physical barriers. The king size bed was great and there was plenty of space for our belongings. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Downtown Banff is only a 10 minute walk away and this was very convenient!
In the end though I did feel a little cheated having to spend over $200 a night on the room, it just didn't compare to other places we've stayed at for the same or less amount.
The pool and hottub were nice although does not accomadate many people. In fact more than 6 adults in the pool would be awkward.
I probably would not stay at this hotel again. Instead I would just spend a little extra on a nicer hotel. It's possible my standards and expectations were just too high, but I've stayed in much nicer hotels for the same price.

Stayed in a room with upper loft and it was great. Staff, pool, hot tub could not have been better. No wonder they are always booked to capacity

We were interested in finding a hotel close to downtown, which offered kitchenette facilities for our young family. Charlton's met and/or exceeded our expectations in all areas. The kitchenette suite was spacious, clean and reasonably priced, with two separate sleeping
areas. The suite appeared to have been recently renovated, with updated decor and bathroom fixtures. The heated tiles in the kitchen and bathroom were also nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The
pool area was pleasant and clean, with a nice shallow area for toddlers to splash in. There was a nice children's park next door. Although there isn't a restaurant on site, we found the Keg next door
to be well-equipped for small children. It was approximately 10 minutes walking distance from downtown. We would book this hotel again and recommend it for families looking for good value and comfortable accommodations.

Stayed for 2 nights in August. The hotel was very clean and the staff was more than accomodating. The room was nicely layed out, although a bit on the small side. The only down side was poorly fitting sheets and an older bedspread.

The location was great - about 5 blocks from downtown. Breakfast facilities at the hotel would have been nice, but the evenings cookies were enjoyable!

All in all, a good value for the price. I would recommend to my friends and would stay again myself.

From TripAdvisor, this looked like the best hotel for the money, and it certainly proved to be true. First off, the staff were very friendly and helpful, even arranging for two middle-of-the-night deliveries (to a sister hotel) of our lost luggage.
Our room was very nice-sized, especially the bathroom, with both a shower AND a bathtub. The indoor pool and jacuzzi areas were also very nice.
The hotel definitely IS a 15 minute walk to town, but with our rental car, that proved to be no problem. Ample (free) covered parking was appreciated as well.

We'd certainly not look elsewhere if we returned to Banff.

We stayed in a kitchenette suite - one room with a double bed and one with twin beds, seperated by the kitchen and bathroom areas, perfect for our family of 4. Very clean and only a 10 minute walk into the main downtown area past a Safeway supermarket. The last bit of the downtown road is being dug up but this did not spoil our enjoyment of Banff. I also enjoyed the really pretty cascade gardens at Canada place too
