This was a real little gem - yes it was a little tired looking, and shabby in places, but it was scrupulously clean and had everything we wanted for our short stay. (2 nights). We had a room overlooking the river, with a balcony,so we got up early and see the sunrising over the beautiful river, went for an early morningwalk along the river and got refreshed. Hotel next door also has a coinlaundry but sadly too many people using the one machine -but we found a friendly little coin-op on Wolf street so we were able to get all cleaned up before starting the next leg of our trek across Canada. One thing I should mention, if you stay here - get ear plugs!! The trains hoot all night long, haha, and will definitely wake you. very loud! Banff is very easily accessible from this hotel, within walking distance, and has a plethora of shops and cafes and restaurants, we were really very spoilt for choice. Go for a drive round the golf course - we didn't see any wild bears in the mountains, but we saw one on the golf course!! awesome.
And of course, everywhere is surrounded by the Rockie Mountains. Stunning. Do yourself a favour, if you want to stay in Banff stay in this quaint little hotel, Staff were great, cleaning was great, it had good strength wifi. we would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river, it's worth that little bit extra, for stunning views of the Bow river and the mountains.

We struggled to find a B and B and accommodation in Banff at a reasonable price so we went with Bow View Lodge as it didn't seem too costly..relative to everywhere else! The location is fab being close to the river and 5 mins walk to the town centre but away from the noise and bustle. The entrance and building is not especially attractive so first impressions weren't great but the room was a good size and was clean and was fine for us. Would recommend paying the bit extra for river view as the place is a no frills hotel but the balcony was lovely to have. Glad it had free parking. No breakfast on site but you could do the 2 minutes walk to the neighbouring hotel for this....we had breakfast in town however as the breakfast was relatively expensive!

This hotel is absolutely fine, and I would recommend it.

Not looking for anything fancy then this is your place. Had much better reviews than the other budget places in Banff. Kinda lame that they charge for WIFI but I guess everyone's taking advantage of tourists in this town. Rooms kinda small but that's not a big deal to me. Had a balcony so that's nice. Close walk to everything.

This hotel offers great value, considering the price (we paid ~$115 with tax) and they are sistered with Banff Park Lodge (right next door), which means you can use the pool/hot tub/steam room facilities and The Terrace restaurant in the lobby is absolutely amazing. The Bow View itself is a bit of a time warp, but is still in good shape (not worn out looking at all). Its location is really good, right on the Bow River and pathways, 2 blocks from Banff Avenue and offers easy access from the highway using the less used West entrance to Banff.

The room was great (rm 109) Large, spacious with a wall of windows overlooking the Bow River. Nicely renovated - we'll definitely book this room again & again!! The location is perfect - close enough to the center of Banff to be able to walk virtually everywhere in town, but far enough away from the hustle & bustle to be perfectly laid back!
