We were exploring the beautiful area north of Banff town - just get onto Banff Avenue, go north, and keep going. The drive itself is worth the price of admission, and the bonus are the three gorgeous lakes on that road. Two Jack Lake is primarily a picnic spot, as there aren't any hiking trails linking to it. In the summer, if you have a canoe, you can boat on the lake in the summer, and sometimes in the winter, the lake freezes solid without accumulating any snow. It hadn't done this on our last visit, but the views from the lake were still stunning.
