The accommodations are great you have a kitchen/living room and a large bedroom. The dining room is like a mid evil castle with great wine and food. The owners are friendly as are the staff and they speak English for those concerned with communication. Overlooking the town and valley
This place is a gem in the mountainside.

This hotel is an old farm house turned into a hotel. The owners were wonderful and the hotel and grounds are beautiful. Dinner was included and the all the foods for the meal including the olive oil and wine are made on the grounds and it was very good. Great relaxing pool area with fantastic views of San Giuseppe Jato. My wife and i are from North Carolina, went into the town and found my grandfathers birth certificate from 1902. We came to San Giuseppe Jato for that, the hotel was a unexpected pleasure. We will come back and stay longer - great hotel in a great location in Sicily.

Just outside the manic pressure cooker called Palermo we arrived at Masseria La Chiusa - it was another world. Calm, quiet and rural, with inspiring views of the surrounding mountains and yet close to the main roads. Masseria La Chiusa is a family-run 400-year-old vineyard/farm, now mainly producing olives. Once a village in its own right, it is now a place to relax and unwind. A very friendly welcome from the owner's son and his waiter Guiseppe. Authentic Sicilian cooking served in a stately-home restaurant straight out of a film set, and a great choice of wines. Lovely walks and a large swimming pool. Perfect.

We were there for one night. Despite the very late arrival (11 p.m.) we were served a very tasty 3 course dinner and had a bottle of very delicious wine. The breakfast was fine. The room was warm, cosy and very clean. I can definitely recommend this place.

This was the first place in Sicily that we stayed after a week in Rome and it was all what we hoped an agriturismo would be---quiet, restful, and in a valley of rugged beauty. Ownership made us feel welcome and Giuseppe (waiter) was earnest and genuine and with old-world manners. The food was also excellent. Even the dogs were friendly. In short, an excellent place to stay.

We were looking for an authentic experience in Sicily and found it at Las Masseria. This family-owned agriturismo is set in a valley surrounded by hills and olive groves. The owners and staff were all very friendly -- making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We hired a driver to take us to Erice, Palermo, Segesta and Marsala where we met my long-lost family. After a day of touring it was nice to return to this quiet spot to play tennis before enjoying a delicious, organic meal featuring olive oil and ricotta cheese produced on the farm. We especially enjoyed watching the sheep come in from the fields each night. There's a nice pool with beautiful views and the tennis court also serves as a soccer field so it's a great location for families or couples to play and relax.

We had planned to stay for a couple of nights, but couldn't tear ourselves away - we stayed for the whole week, and would have loved to be at La Masseria even longer. the agriturismo is run by the family who have farmed here since the eighteenth century, and the farm has been worked since the fourteenth century. The family were welcoming and hospitable, and the staff all feel like part of the family: everybody is helpful and informative. Fantastic Sicilian flavours in the food, which is grown at the farm, and the vino della casa is delicious. Breakfast is gorgeous - lots of wonderful pastries! Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and included a kitchen - effectively a small apartment for the price of a room. The farmhouse is fascinating building at the end of a very beautiful valley, with stunning views, and has a spotless swimming pool, which we had entirely to ourselves for the whole week. Palermo, Monreale and the western third of the island are all within easy reach (be prepared for challenging road surfaces though!). We can't wait to go back to this happy find!
